Hi MIP1999,
There are various ways to create a blank image, depending on what image software you have available. I'll provide some resizing instructions for Microsoft Paint as it is a default program that comes with Windows XP and Vista.
To resize your image:
1. Open Microsoft Paint by going to your Start Menu, All Programs, Accessories, Paint.
2. In Paint, go to the File Menu in the top-left, and select Open. Navigate to the image you would like to adjust and click Open.
3. If you look at the corners of your image it will have small grey boxes that you may click and drag to enlarge the image to whatever size you prefer. Alternatively, if you know your screen size (e.g. 1024 x 768 resolution) you may go to the Image menu and select the Attributes option. In the dialogue window that pops up you may specify the exact image size.
4. Now that you've enlarged the image you'll note that your original picture has remained in the top left. To move the original picture to the centre of your enlarged area, click on the Selection tool from the list of paint tools. It should look like a dotted rectangle.
5. With the selection tool, click and drag a box around your original picture. If you've made a mistake with your selection, simply click once outside of the selection box to cancel it and you may click and drag a new box.
6. Once you are happy with your selection, click INSIDE the selection and you may drag it to any position you like.
7. To save your new image, go to the File Menu and click Save As to save your new, larger image under a new file name. If you would like to overwrite your original image you may simply select the Save option.

I hope resizing the image isn't too confusing, if you have any further problems do let me know.

Cheers,
