Play back modes missing, repeat sequence, time lapse

I miss the following play back modes and maybe this mode can be made more flexible in configuration?

media - word - media (-word)

And: Repeat sequence 1x 2x 3x

So picture + sound, written word + sound, picture + sound,  repeat the same sequence,  before going to the next word.

Also I noticed that there is no automatic timing, it is to the user to deternine how fast the pictures and words are shown. Is it in the planning to have a configurable time lapse?

We don't have the option to do media/word/media right now. We didn't put it there cos we didn't think people would want such a mode, but you've just proven us wrong!

Frankly, I didn't even think that people would use word/media/word option much!

What we ARE planning on doing is to have a word/media/mix mode, where 'mix' would be seeing both the picture and word together.  anyone interested in this?

What do you mean by "Repeat sequence 1x 2x 3x"?  do you mean repeating each word 1x, 2x, or 3x before the next word?? Personally, I think a child would likely get bored with so many repeats of the same thing in sequence.

Re automatic timing, you can adjust the playback speed with the slider.  Did you know that?
In any case, there are certain shortcomings with the current system which we intend to address in the near future, so we'll be looking into this area again soon.  Please let us know if you have any particular suggestions or comments.

I would like the option of media/word/media

The option of word/media/mix would be useful as well

I find that Joseph likes to have the sequence repeated - I tend to have to right click to go back sometimes for him. (He is a child who practises his sentence construction very carefully and speaks very deliberately but accurately.)

His older and younger brothers both like to go at a cracking pace so the ability to fine tune the playback a bit more would be great.

I found out that by using the back arrow key you can make it to repeat the word. So after the first word, to repeat the first word, use the <-- arrow key.
Little kids don't mind repetition as much as grown ups! But you will have to go by your feeling to stop before the child gets bored to keep the whole thing exiting for the next time.

Yes, you can do a couple of things to achieve your repeats:

1. GO BACK 1 SLIDE
- by pressing right mouse button, or LEFT arrow key

2. REPEAT SLIDE
- by pressing mouse-wheel, or DOWN arrow key

I think these are covered in the "Keys to use during Playback" video tutorial which you can find in the LR's Start Guide.

I think the mix would be great too !!  especially in something like the nursery rhymes
