Number of times a word is shown in Little Reader

Hi All,

I have a few questions about LR functionality - specifically relating to the number of times a word is shown.

I have a playlist of 15 words. I show them in Random feature, 10 in a session. Is it truly random or is there a formula that plays the least played words first?  Should I keep my lists to 10 to help ensure words are more evenly shown?

The same question applies to Little Math.  Today I played a set of 10 with 10 in a session on Random and the number 19 was played twice.  So I'm wondering if all the numbers are getting even play.

Ok, I figured out my problem with the duplicate number in LM. I only had 9 items in the rotation for that session. 

I'm still wondering about the LR functionality and how to know if the words are being evenly shown.  Is it best to just keep my word groups to the number of words I'm showing in each session?

Hi norcalmommy,

"Random" means randomly chosen, but that doesn't mean "evenly" chosen.

It's like rolling a die 6 times.  You may get to see "5" twice, and even one after another.

Maybe later we'll add a feature where once an option has been displayed, it will be removed from the list of options until everything else has been shown.

KL - Thanks for filling me in.  Sounds like the best thing is to create playlists that are exactly the number of items I want shown in a session.  Thankfully, that's super easy.

Great idea for future releases too!
