some quick start up questions

I just received my package in the mail.  I bought this online and have already downloaded the LR and LM cirriculm online so I do not need to redownload with the CD Rom right?

Should I use the words that correspond with the program in my flip chart or do I use a different set of words and pictures ,teaching even more words at a time?

Hi Erin,

Welcome to BrillKids!!! 
You will not be disappointed the program runs smoothly, there is so much support and great information here on the forum and my son really enjoys the  lessons.  It has created a new experience to bond and add structure in our daily life.
I am sort of new to BrillKids myself and you bring up very good questions. 
I will tell you what I have been doing for almost a month now. 
I would love to read other people's advice who have had more experience with teaching young children.

I never used the CD Roms sent to me since I downloaded the curriculum online.

I usually use the same words in the flip chart to correspond with the daily lessons.  If my son is still showing interest when the binder is finished I show him words from the previous weeks a review.  Since I have alot of time on my hands being a stay at home mom with one child I have snuck an extra lesson in our day where I show him flashcards from other programs or ones that I have made.  I believe that for young babies they need to see a word about 15 or more times to learn it and as they get older they will learn the words they see much quicker.

Thanks for your input Mela!

What you want to do with your binder is really up to you, the binder can be quite useful if you want to teach in a different environment without a computer. What Mela said is a good suggestion.

Regarding downloading the LR and LM curriculum online.

If you have downloaded and installed the curriculum online already, there is no need to install it from the CDs. The CDs primarily serve as a backup in case you can't access the downloads online (we update the curriculum and software version online from time to time so it's best to download online).
