Tips on How to Maximize the Effectiveness of LR

If there is already a post on here, I am sorry but I am new and can't find it.

My daughter is 17 months. We have used LR on and off for months. I haven't done the best job in being consistent. (I blame being pregnant with number 2). We are now back on track and using it consistently at least 4 days a week. I feel that I am not using it most effectively. Does anyone have any tips on things I can do to maximize the used of LR.

We have also recently started working with my daughter on colors and being more intentional my playtime with her. I think there are ways I can be doing our "Tot School" in conjunction with LR.

Try to print out the LR words and play with them during the day. Try also to practice letter sounds, starfall.com was very helpful for us. Once she knows the letter sounds, it would be much easier for her to remember LR words. It is also important that you practice the words throughout the day like pointing to objects and performing actions.

To accelerate things a bit, you may introduce her to phonics, I highly recommend readingbear.org

For fun, you can show her LR stories even if you haven't been there yet.
