Hi Daniellie!
Thank you very much for approaching us with your problem, and personally I would like to say how sorry I am that this happened to your computer (I know how it feels, it happened to me more than once before.
)
It would seem that your computer has encountered a serious (albeit not uncommon) error.
And I do hope that your IT guys can fix the problem and recover your hard drive information.
There are two ways to back up your Little Reader Library:1. Simply EXPORT EVERYTHING into one category. This will effectively back up all the data you have in your current Little Reader (sans the folders, since Exporting and Importing does not include the folder system :p ) Copy this big library file onto a portable hard-drive or flash drive, and re-import everything in your new computer, once you get everything formatted.
2. Go to My Documents / BrillKids folder using your windows explorer. Copy the whole Little Reader HOME folder and save it in a portable hard drive or flash drive. Once you get your new PC, install Little Reader and the license key, and paste your copied Little Reader HOME folder in the same destination in your My Documents / BrillKids folder. For this to work, your computer username must be the same (and also must remain XP or Vista, same as laptop), so that the paths will be the same.
I'm afraid that there is no one way of downloading everything from our online library and importing everything in Little Reader. You will still have to download the library files one by one, and import them into Little Reader. We have always done this because there will be many conflicting files, whether in filename, category or playlist, and we always trust the user to decide how to resolve these import conflicts.
Regarding the matter of license though - all the licenses may be used and activated on a maximum of two computers. This means that you may install the license key on your laptop
by simply going to your Account Management software tab and downloading and installing both the software and the license key.
I hope this helps.
