Inconsistent playback when playing playlists...

Phew, try saying play 5 times!  Gets you tongue-tied!

I wanted to mention that the Playlist I created with words two different categories (that I created) doesn't play back consistently.

Some related media files speed through in less than 1 second whereas some words display for longer than I set.  A few times the picture media file only came on the screen for a blip of time and then the app. went on to the next word!

When I provide a voice-over or audio file to accompany the picture, the play back is pretty consistent.

What's going on?

Is this something that will get helped with a purge or is the playback feature buggy?

Do all the files in question have pronunciations or picture audio? The picture slides will stay on the screen for the same length of time that the pronunciation from the word slide took. If you don't have an audio file attached, it will speed through very fast.

I noticed this problem as soon as I downloaded LR 1.5.255. Before I reset all of the Auto Forward Delays I thought that it was cutting long words short when showing pictures.

I have tried adjusting the Auto Forward Delay bar a lot for my Playlists and now they are watchable. However I still experience the "blip" for the first picture file that appears in the first playlist of a session. A blip explains it precisely. All of the other pictures now appear to play as usual and all of the picture files in the next playlists I play in the session now appear to play as usual.

Mum, it still does it for me, but I have v.238. I cannot easily upgrade for some reason.

For example, if I have a slide that has a sentence, the picture will stay up for the same amount of time that the pronunciation of the sentence took. If there is a single word, the picture will stay up for the amount of time the pro. of the pic. took.

This sounds quite strange!  Can affected users please try upgrading to the latest version of LR (1.5.257 I believe) and see if the error still occurs?

Also, I'll be making a note to discuss this with the programmers, so I just wanted to make sure I understand the problem(s).  Please help me clarify:

 - When auto-forward is ON, the first picture shown each time LR is started will 'blip', provided it does not have any audio attached.
 - Auto-Forward may be cutting pronunciations short?
 - Occasionally, playback slides will display for longer/shorter than expected.

Also, mom2ross and Mum - does this behaviour only occur during user-created data, or with course lessons as well?

I have the problem with the sound for the pictures getting cutoff before it finishes. I am running latest version I think. I don't think it does for bk files but it does it for other files.

No, I meant the latest beta 1.6 version which was JUST released a few hours ago.

Also, can you upload a Category where you're having this problem? and have you tried tweaking the Auto-forward delay setting?

PS - is it only for Word Flash lessons, or even Multisensory?

I've noticed it happens for particular words, and not others.

- Blips with audio attached like for cricket in Semester 2 lesson today.
- May also blip when not the first picture if pronunciation file is longish. I think it happens when audio files have longish single words, such as some of the dinosaur names.
- When it happens the pronunciation is always shorter for the picture than for the written word even though they have the same audio files attached.

I noticed it a lot for grasshopper in the Semester 2 lessons. We got “grasshopper" when the word was displayed and “grasshop” for the picture.

This was my solution too some time ago. Did you also notice that if you immediately moved auto forward back from .4 to .2 the problem seemed to stay away for a while. Or was it my imagination? I have to say this again, very strange!
