What are the things that Little Reader offers?

I guess this question must have been answered already somewhere in the forum.  I've been trying to look for that for a while but now I'm getting tired.  I actually have the trial version at this moment and I'm trying to find out and try out the things that I could actually do with the program while I still have the trial.  Of course I'm already using it and trying it out.  But what I want to know is about the features and other advanced stuff that could be done with the program after actually purchasing it.  I hope I made myself clear.  Thanks!

Little Reader is obviously a tool to do advanced flashcards. Displaying a different picture each time the same word is played back, gives a better understanding of the meaning of the word.  It is useful in teaching a foreign language. You can capture the screen and make your own teaching movies. The fact that you can create your own material is limitless and will make Little Reader a valuable tool to your child's learning for years to come. The other advantage is most kids are much more interested in a computer then flashcards. the fact that you can easily add pictures of your child, you or their favorite toy and personalize the lesson will help engage your child. The  is this tool will save you countless hours of preparing material for your child, not to mention money. I think Little Reader is a cost savings and much better then dvds I have purchased.

Thanks, patreiche.  There it is, you mentioned about teaching a foreign language.  Now I don't see how I could do that using the trial version I currently have.  Same with personalizing the lessons.  And perhaps a lot more of the things that you could do with Little Reader.  I mean what I do is to just study the lessons with my daughter the way it is presented.  You know I kind of hear this and that somewhere in the forum but I don't know how they do it or where they find it or where to click it, you know.

And, oh, I just discovered I also received in my e-mail a notice that I'm supposed to have the Little Math trial as well.  I'm surprised because I haven't asked for it yet, and I'm worried that soon the LM will be over without even having tried it out!  What's up with that?

Hi giftedmommy,

First, I've replied to your PM about the LM trial question already - in short, all new members have access to free trials of both LR and LM in their account. Trial starts only after installation of the program.

Re things you can do with LR, first let's talk about editing.  I think we have video tutorials that will help, so please check them out (and the Help manual too). Basically, in the Playback screen, if you click on Categories, you will see all the Categories of words etc. Most of these are what's used in the curriculum.

Once in Categories view, you will see the NEW, EDIT, etc. buttons below each list pane. Play around with those and I'm sure you'll be on your way to editing and creating new content. (Note LR also comes with a built-in voice editor/recorder as well as picture editor that can come in handy).

And that's when you'll see you can just type in foreign language words/characters too.  If you don't want to, simply go to the File Downloads / Foreign Language Downloads section and download some foreign language files and see.

Thanks for explaining about the things that I could do with LR and how to do them.  It's sad though that my trial has expired already and I can no longer try those things out.   Those 14 days seemed to have gone by so fast!

Sorry for all these questions.  I'm pretty new here as you can probably see and tell.  I'm even wondering how to keep track of all my posts.  I can't seem to find the link that would allow me to view all of them like a "View All My Posts" link or something.  For days I've forgotten that I've posted this question and that's why I'm kinda late reading your reply.  Can anybody help me out?  Thanks again.
