Hi Katie,
Can you clarify what kind of LR lesson you're trying to do -- would you like to make a Playlist, or a Category?
To help you distinguish between these two, please see below:
- Playlists are selections of custom-ordered Categories and/or words, and you may freely set each playlist to play back in a certain way. Playlists in LR work just like the playlists you have in your computer's music player.
- Each lesson from the pre-made Little Reader curriculum contains words, phrases or sentences that are grouped into Categories, each with a common theme or topic. You may also create your own Categories on special topics or other lessons you would like to teach your baby, or you can simply download Categories from the BrillKids Forum Library.
Adding words to a Playlist or Category is done in almost same way, and unfortunately you can't drag-and-drop or copy-paste words in the current version of LR.
To add words to your Playlist or Category:
- Go to the Playback screen, and display either Playlists or Categories
- Click on the +NEW button right below the list of lessons and type in the name of your new Playlist or Category (if you haven't done this yet)
- Select / highlight the Playlist or Category you want to add words to, and click on the EDIT button (an "Edit Playlist / Category" window will pop up)
- Editing Playlists:
- Select from the list of existing Categories on the leftmost panel
- In the middle panel, select the word/s you want to add
- Click on the button with an arrow pointing to the right to add the selected word/s to your Playlist; OR
- If you want to add an entire Category to your Playlist, click on the ALL button with an arrow pointing to the right - Editing Categories:
- Select words from the list of existing words on the left-hand panel (this contains ALL the words you currently have in your LR library)
- Click on the button with an arrow pointing to the right to add the selected words to your Category - Click on the SAVE button when you're done editing your Playlist or Category
** Note: For Playlists, you may only add words or Categories that you already have in LR -- if you want to add an entirely new word or Category, then you will have to create your new Category first.
To add new words to your new Category, all you have to do is click on the +NEW button below your Category's word list (middle panel in the Playback screen).
Regarding your other question, if you want to use the media files attached to the different "eye" words that you have (for example), you will need to have just one "eye" word where you've added in all the related media files from your downloaded "eye" words -- this way, whenever "eye" is played the media files played will come from any of the ones you've compiled in that word.
I hope this helps!
