Hello, first off kindly clarify how you installed/imported the complete English Semester 1 content:
1. Did you also reinstall Little Reader? If so, did you uninstall the one you were previously using (trial version) before installing the licensed one? Also, please let me know which version you were using before (if you can still remember), and the version you have now. In case you need help with checking your software version, simply refer to this article:
http://support.brillkids.com/index.php/article/how-to-find-out-software-version2. Did your daughter save a backup of the lessons she edited (the ones where she added her own pictures)?
Unfortunately, if you have already imported your complete curriculum content without setting any advanced import options, then LR already imported your content over the ones you previously had (because that's the default import setting when importing curriculum files). However, you may still be able to retrieve your personal recordings / pictures / videos by doing the following:
- From your Start menu, go to All Programs
- Go to the "BrillKids" folder and open the "Little Reader" folder
- Select "Open Media Library" and this will open the folder where LR stores all the media files used in your lessons
- Do a Search for your personal files to check if those are still there, but were just taken out of your LR lesson(s)
If the media files you used are still in your Media Library folder, you may simply re-add these to the lessons you worked on last time. If your own media files are no longer in your Media Library, you may need to re-add your files from where you have originally saved them (e.g., My Documents, Desktop, etc.)
For future reference, here's how you import curriculum content files without removing the personal media files you've added:
1. Open the file you want to import (Little Reader will open automatically, if it's not opened yet)
2. In the "Importing..." dialog window, click on the link named "Show Advanced Options"
3. Select the following for each option:
Course/Playlist/Category name conflict --> Combine
Word file name conflict --> Combine
Media file name conflict --> Rename
4. Click on the "Yes" button to start importing, and the settings above should combine your current version of the lessons (with your personal media) and the version you are importing
You may also choose to periodically save your LR files, especially when you have edited many things, using the Export function (if you want to save only specific categories or playlists) or the Backup function (this saves everything in your LR, including your media library and any special fonts if you like).
