If your laptop meets at least the minimum system requirements for Little Reader and Little Math (requirements for both software are the same), then you should be fine with using LR and LM in your current laptop without having to wait for any upgrades. The most important items that you need to look into would be your processor/CPU (at least Pentium 4), RAM or system memory (at least 1GB), and your hard disk space (10 GB with at least 5 GB of available space).

Little Reader will need more processing and storage capacity than Little Math mostly because the LR curriculum has a larger volume of media files (and even more for your case since you want to get the English and Chinese Curriculum).
Yes, if your computer seems to be doing fine with the trial version, this can mean you'll have only a few or no problems once you set up the full-licensed software. Again, please take note of possible processing and storage issues as described above.
I would also like to inform you that you can modify LR and LM to suit your computer better -- you can optimize LR and LM's performance for "slow," "average," or "fast" computers
Alternatively, if you have another laptop or computer that has better specs than the one you're using you can try installing LR and LM there and see how it works (remember than you can install LR and LM in up to 2 computers).
