Learn Arabic/How to Recite Qur'an with Yassarnal Qur'an in 40 Lessons
June 04, 2008
Learn the Arabic alphabet, short and long vowels, and rules of pronunciation (Arabic in general)/tajweed rules (specifically for Qur'an) in 40 lessons by a professionally certified Qur'anic Recitation Scholar, Ustazul Qurra Hazrat Moulana Qari Mohammed Ali Khan Saheb Hy. (I chose this particular series because it is taught by a certified professional and it very easy to follow along with examples in the book, as compared to other video series in which the student would have to "guess" where the teacher reading is from.)
(Comment: I personally have learned Arabic from this methodology and it is THE most effective and most efficient way to learn Arabic in general! I also like learning from Indian-Pakistani teachers because they are able to teach Arabic (second language for me and third/fourth language for them). And they make learning Arabic easy and fun by teaching in my native language of English (which is a second/third language for them).
This world-renowned program has been used for centuries and is the basis of learning how to read Arabic language in general, and for the Qur'an specifically. Because Arabic words are pronounced as they are written and written as it is pronounced, hence it is a phonics-based approach and easier than learning English with all of it's exceptions to the rules.
Lessons 1 & 2 (9 videos) included in this post.
