We have several Basher Books, as well as the Elements flashcards...

I have to say they really aren't our style...we are both chemists, so maybe we are too picky regarding the chemistry one and flashcards specifically, but found them too stylized:
'His illustration style (Simon Basher) is described as graphic surrealism; a synergy of European graphic design and Japanese character creation'
 
If this is a style that your LO would enjoy, then they are very well-done. If not, here are a few more of our favorites!

We LOVE Theodore Gray and his work on The Elements...a fantastically detailed book, and there are wonderfully detailed 'flash cards' as well:

I have just bought a fantastic game with all sorts of variations and games included, which has element cards as well...I bought it as an Xmas prezzie for DH and I, although I am hoping to use it with Alex as well

I agree with Kerileanne the Basher books. I bought the core science set of Chemistry, Biology and Physics and probably will not buy anymore.  We are still using the Basher cards because after you cut them in half they are great to recreate the periodic table. 

The elements by Theodore Gray are great!  I took them to a local teacher store and had them laminated since Cayden often carries various ones around like they are his security blanket.

What has really boosted Cayden's knowledge of the elements are posters.  In his basement playroom we have one that shows actual pics of the elements (I don't have a link as it was a gift from my Father he has had it hanging in one of his labs for years).

I chose this one bc it has pics of the crystal structure.


and of course my very favorite is a set of posters I found on quill.com I have actually bought ALOT of posters from them and stick them to the wall with Velcro so we can switch them up

I also took these to the teacher store to have laminated.  Yes my self laminating days have been over for some months now

Oh he is just adorable! Cayden is obviously completely fascinated with Big Interesting words! I bet he spends even longer "playing" with the dinosaur type words than Jaykob does!
That does look like a great poster set. I need a new poster for the toilet thanks
