that water part was something else LOL! Sounded like garbage for sure.
I did see a few skeptical remarks about this searching around, but what I was more interested in was the movement portions and what they had in common, similar to the supposed benefits of cross-pattern crawling, tweedlewinks cross-over vision tracking and balance ball exercises, the math and movement program, and the benefits of piano and ASL, all kinesthetically engaging and therefore using both parts of the brain. Why are multiple programs all coming to the same "conclusion" about movement activating the brain? I am not talking about ridiculous claims like BG makes, but substantial benefits that are worth taking a closer look at.
I only read through the first link so far and it sounds like there is a lot of psuedo-science going on, but there has GOT to be *something* to the movement portion of it if numerous programs keep touting similar benefits. Everyone is so afraid to say "We don't know why it works but it does, let's do a big study and test it out some more, we think it has something to do with this....."......but instead they make outrageous claims and fill in the details with psuedo-science which discredits them altogether, know what I mean?
So as a discerning parent, I try to go through and pick and choose the best of everything as long as it does no harm. I certainly won't be buying their program, but I considered using some of the posted exercises with my kids while we sing memorization bible verses or states and capitals, things that like. But as I have said before, I have always leaned slightly "this side of crazy" and am open to listening to outrageous ideas sometimes, but then scaling them back and looking for the nuggets of useful truth. I've been surprised how many times crazy actually works! Like the time I set out to teach my baby to read
ETA: I just made it through the first half of the TV spot, oh. my. goodness. This man made an absolute fool of himself and his product on national TV. That whole interaction was inexcusable and he should have had a marketing professional take his place, he has no business public speaking!
