DEAL ALERT- Testing Mom Christmas Sale- Two Thumbs way up!

I recently joined testingmom.com during their black friday sale. I used the sale price plus I scouted around online and found a code "newmember30" which gave an additional 30% off. If you ever considered buying a logic book like "Lollipop Logic" (as recommended by DadDude and others) save your money! I like those workbooks and they are great, but there is something better. I bought Lollipop Logic level 1 and Lily blew through it in under 2 weeks. TestingMom offers thousands of questions, far, FAR more than any one workbook.  There are some interactive ones online and something like 10,000 for printing. You get much more for your money.

AND it gets sweeter than that. It includes a membership to "Space Baby Academy" which includes

-BrainPopjr.com (EK for lazy moms!)
-Britannica Smart Math
-Encyclopedia Britannica online (more EK for lazy efficient moms!)
-Study Island (2nd grade and up, it's aimed at slightly older kids)

It's not as much about preparing for any given test although that is nice, but teaching logical thinking skills is wonderful for brain development. And there is so much VALUE in this membership. I had been wanting to join Brainpopjr for a while and it was actually cheaper to buy it this way than to buy it alone through their website. I am a big fan of the online testing mom questions and Owen begs for "Space Babies."

She is running a "12 Days of Christmas Sale" for 70% off. I'm not sure when it ends. Code newmember30 should give another 30% off of that if it's still active. I like it, recommend it, and it's far cheaper than buying those memberships above separately along with workbooks! I think her membership might be annual, not perpetual, so just wanted to give a heads up on that.

She does have great stuff! The membership is annual but you can go nuts with the printing during your year and have a life time supply.
Membership also gets you a copy of her book, well worth reading. This is a pretty big discount overall. She often heavily discounts but this one gets you pretty close to free!

I am hoping to wait until next Black Friday to renew. I got it for $67 (90% off plus the 30% stacked) Can't do much better than that! But 70% off is still an amazing deal if you are in the market for logic question materials. I didn't share it on the forum because I found out at the very last minute before it expired at midnight and also didn't know if it was any good. Now I can confidently say that it is!

If anyone else wants a discount sign up for the free sample questions. It will get you on the mailing list and then you will get sent a couple of free questions each week/month as well as the latest special deals.
This lady has more proof than anyone else I could find that gifted is a trainable skill. I am still fence sitting but her questions can definately get kids into gifted programs and we all know the sooner the quality teaching starts the brighter kids will end up.
My kids love doing the free practice questions we get by email. At some point i will sign up, probably next year though. When I need a further challenge for my son.

Yes, I have her Testing for Kindergarten book which I bought a while back. It was worth reading to me and it really drove home the best way to talk to our kids. She makes fun of parents who teach their babies to read.    But I can handle that, I found it to be informative and inspiring, definitely worth the $12 or so I paid.  Since I joined her site they gave me the choice of that book (which I already owned) or her fictional book the Ivy Chronicles. I read the first couple pages but I can't really get into it. I am going to try again soon but I am reading some other things at the moment.

BTW, her Testing for K book goes for $10 now on walmart.com with free store pickup.

Totally agree, the price is WELL worth it!
I bought the Testing For Kindergarten book several months ago. Whilst there was not too much new information in it for me, it really is a nice book about the importance of 'starting early!'  The biggest point for me was in driving home the point behind her statistics: if you think the hugely competitive race for entrance to. Preschools and kindergarten in ONLY relegated to areas like NYC? Think again. And the effects are hugely pervasive...

I will say that after receiving daily emails and sample questions, which are mostly fun and helpful, I have noticed that she runs one'extreme' sale after another

There are actually two 'sister' sites, and both tend to run fairly parallel...but the TestingMom.com sister site runs a quarterly discount that offers their VERY fun board game called IQ Fun Park at almost  1/3 off. (Savings of over $100, as the game is PRICEY!)
I DO think it is well worth it though! I have spent a great deal of money on logic-style books...we have lots of Lollipop Logic books and whole series of workbooks from Critical Thinking. These are great, especially the CT books, but the game (and the online portions like Space Babies, etc! Are SO much more fun and attractive to tots-which means they get done a whole lot more often )
Receiving emails from both sites is also a nice reminder to try some of the activities daily! ( they can be a bit pushy sometimes as well, but still...)

Is the membership only applicable for preschool age or is it useful for older children also? And is the Christmas discount only off membership or is it off IQ Fun Park also? Yes, whatever deal they are running provides a discount for purchasing iq Funpark! At Thanksgiving, the 90% discount that TmT managed offered $150 off the game--right now the current 70% deal provides for a $100 discount!

I am curious to know whether TmT's coupon find for an additional 30% off could be used on the game as well? As in, sign up for membership using the 70% and the coupon code. Then, once you are a member and have been given the $100 discount for the game, could you also use the code for 30% as well?

I just called the contact number for Karen Quinn and left a detailed message explaining the situation and enquiring as to a remedy for you, or anyone else interested in signing up outside of the USA...I am pretty sure she will work something out as I know there are others using the program in other countries!

       I originally signed up with TestingMom.com July of 2011 for the daily question/activity.  I just searched for for all/most of their deal and found that the 70% off is actually really good.  Most times the discount was 50%.  Trust me... That 90% would have been such an awesome deal but I/we blew that one.

Does anyone know how much the 1% membership costs without any discounts.  I was trying to sign up for it, but it seems that you have to dig pretty deep just to get to where the pricing is.  I'm at work and can't spend the time to figure it out right now.

Good news for non-US or Canadians!   
I just had a conversation on the live chat and they are happy to honor the deal and arrange payment by Paypal. 
I asked for an additional 30% off because of the Newmember30 discount - this gives a 1y total of $125.98
I think this is a good deal (although would love 90%  ) but I'm happy to hear that 70% is still a good deal!  I think full price is $49.99 per month.
It's not mega cheap but a good option for us because shipping on most critical reasoning products is very expensive (e.g. everything by the critical reasoning co - their books are quite expensive and with shipping the cost goes up....).

I think the offer has been extended to 26 Dec at the moment....

Does anyone have the Enrichment and Learning Activity Kit Ages 4-10 available on testingmom's website? Just wondering if IQ Fun Park is better.

Also, is there a need to sign up for the entire year or would you get enough to print off in one month?

Keep in mind you get subscriptions to brainpop jr, Britannica smart math, and encyclopedia Britannica online depending on the tier you choose. I find them to be very worthwhile!
