A little update, as I was typing my first comment, somehow I mixed up the globe you were mentioning with the "talking globes" ( which were discussed in another thread). I am not great fan of talking globes, we had one and it was more distracting then helpful. However having a huge map mat on the floor, where children play every day, really did help them with geography activities.
This globe ball I presume can be used in many the same way. So cool! Just the fact that it is large, clearly marked and can be played and tossed around, makes it a good choice, IMO. If kids have it in their play area, they would be asking questions about different objects on the globe. It also involves their gross motor skills. I would probably get it!
