Honest reviews needed pls

Hi

I am considering buying either Piano Wizard or Soft way to Mozart for myself and in future for my son. I do not know the a-b-cs of music, so I really need honest opinions from other parents who have used it for their children. I have heard enough from the creators but I want to know more from the actual end users.

Please share the pros and cons of the programs that you have used. I read in another thread that there was misrepresentation of notes in one of the videos of SM(while singing do re mi fa etc..) So I really need to make a good decision as they are quite costly.

I am one of the people who bought Soft Mozart a couple of months ago. My husband and I deliberated long and hard over which program to get and it took us several weeks to read through all the forum posts, articles, reviews, Soft Mozart book, videos, etc before finally deciding on SM. Since getting the program, my daughter has used it on and off for only a month (due to the holiday rush, vacations, etc) and I don't think we have used the program enough to give a fair and detailed review. So far, both my daughter and I really like the software and curriculum although there are some aspects that I think could use some improvement. I will be posting a more thorough review on its pros and cons within the next month or so as we go back to our normal learning schedule and use the program more. I will also see if my daughter's interest in it holds up. Sorry I can't be of more help but I don't want to mislead anyone with a half-baked review.

Maybe it would be good if we have a probable release date for Little Musician and a brief summary of how does it compares with the two you mentioned. I think they are addressed to different ages because Little Musician is if you want to start with babies while the others you have to be a little older.
I am alo interested in giving lessons to my 4 yr old grandson since he enjoys music a lot but am not sure if he will keep the interest. The review will also help me to make my decision about getting a software for teachin music or a private teacher.
I will appreciate if anyone using Piano Wizard can give us his opinion as aangeles comment on Soft Mozart.

2010bebes, Little Musician is very different from PW or SM.  LMS is more on general music education, whereas PW and SM are more focused on teaching your child how to play the piano.

I've tried both PW and SM and for me PW is easily the better choice, especially for people who are not as tech-savvy.

Aangeles, first of all, great job with Ella and her music education! You are an inspiration to many parents on this forum. 

Thank you very much for getting back and sharing your experiences with Soft Mozart. You have brought up some very good points about this programme.

I have downloaded the Soft Mozart DEMO version (Ode to Joy) and have been trying it out with LM over the past couple of weeks. (I am short on cash and I need to make sure I only invest into things that would definitely work for my dd). This method seems to cater well to the strengths of visual learners and LM has been making a steady progress with it, despite her challenges.

As I use a small table to keep the laptop on with not much space to manoeuvre a computer mouse, I personally found it convenient I could simply press laptop keys for choosing game options.

I did not mind the graphics either as LM is completely unsophisticated with computer games. I suppose the graphics serve the purpose.  I do, however, think that the scoring on the right-hand side reflecting timing could have been presented in a more visual way to have more meaning to little learners.

These are simply a couple of points I thought I would share here, and not in any way a review of the product, as I only used a demo version and do not have a full version of SM.
