I search throught the internet and found the follwing information regarding Genius Maker

http://www.teachmybaby.com/ has more details on the program, they want $25 for a series of 3 CD's (math, readng, and EK). I am intrigued by the EK portion of it. I'd love to learn more! Says it's a combination of doman/shichida.

Edited to add- They have a 7 day free trial. Might have to give it a shot.

I signed up by email to be sent info for a 7 day trial, but it's an instant download, no cd's. I can't find any info/reviews on this online and I'm worried it could have some kind of trojan virus in it. Hmmmm....

Alright, I went ahead and tried to download the free trial, but after reading the manual I never bothered to unzip the actual program. The manual's screen shots and description just make it seem like a lousy version of little reader.

I am going to try and attach the manual here so you can see what I mean.

You have to create your own daily lesson plans, I don't think it has voice/sound capabilities, you have to input your own words and math equations, and on and on. It is not the right program for me at all. It's only $25 or so, but I'm glad I paid more for a quality program (LR).

I have used the Genius maker programme for several months now because I can not afford little reader and little math. You have to write your own words in, using Genius maker, to flash words up but it has spell check. You can upload photographs in to the encyclopaedic knowlege section and the title of the file appears on the same page under the picture. When you flash words up a poor quality voice reads out the word for you or you can easily turn off the voice and say the word yourself instead. A wizard small comes up to congratulate the child after each lesson. In the math section coloured dots come up and you can choose the size and colour of the dots. It also has a calculator so you can easily write up equasions with out being good at math yourself. You can buy the encyclopaedic knowledge section but it only has a few pictures on it and a few shapes so my son has learnt to recognise a star at 22months but he does not speak very well yet so I don't know if he can read yet I suspect not though. I probably flashed up too many different words instead of repeating the few over and over.

Thank you for your information. I look at the page and cannot believe how they are selling it for such a small price.
I have some questions if you dont mind.
How long have you been using it?
. I think it takes a lot of work to prepare the curriculum. Can you take it from one instalation to another? Can it be shared as LR is?

You can only install it on one computer. I have been using it for between 6 months and a year I am not sure. Now my son is 22 months and he is just starting to get bored with it probably because I have have not had enough time to load more photos on it. You can put as little or as much time as you want into writing lessons I would do it each evening after my son had gone to bed it takes longer to write the lessons than just to play them as you would do with little reader and little math. You can not choose to show words consecutively in couplets you would have to open and close saved lesson plans. You can save a long text as a lesson plan and it will show all of it at once on the screen or you do one click and it will show it as consecutive words. When my son points to letters of words he always starts at the right and works left but it is too soon to know if he is reading backwards of something.
