Has anyone used the Scholastic flip charts and CDs to teach reading?

I was just at the bookstore and I discovered some large flip charts with an accompanying CD by Scholastic.  They look really nice.  They have them to teach the alphabet, phonics, colors and shapes and word families.  I just looked them up on Amazon and they seem to have great reviews.  I was wondering if anyone has used them.  I thought the phonics and the word family charts look interesting and anything that has to do with singing is always a fun activity.  I am including some links here.

Are you going to buy them? I guess no one else has used them, but I would be interested in a review if you are.

Hi Nhockaday!

I ended up ordering them for my daughter's birthday.  I listened to a few of the songs and they were good.  I will let you know once we start using them in a few weeks.  Her birthday is in February so we will try them then.

Hi Krista,

I have the ABC book & cd.  I used it in my kindergarten class when I taught.  The kids LOVED it! 

They're cute little songs and the books have bright and interesting illustrations.  Just before I'd play the song I'd make them tell me which track it was.  So, if we were doing the letter "G" that day they'd have to tell me to put the cd on track #7 - one more way to sneak in some counting   After listening and singing along to it a few times, we'd count up how many G-words that were in the song...if there was time, we'd list them on the whiteboard.

I hope you enjoy them as much as we did this one.  I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on the other book/cd sets.

Thanks, Kizudo.  That is helpful.  They look really nice and since the melodies are familiar I thought it would be fun.  I am all about sneaking in some extra learning as well.
