Brainetics

I saw an infomercial about this  a week or so ago and was wondering if anyone has tried this program or heard anything about it. Thanks in advance to all those that respond!!

I saw an infocommercial about it, checked out their website too, and read some reviews.  One reviewer was happy with the program but  described math tricks that are only good for certain multiples (not all numbers) and using simple mnemonics to memorize lists.  It made me skelptical because I can teach my child memorization tricks myself.  The math tricks that can be used to multiply large numbers weren't described in the review.  I'm feeling skelptical about whether it actually improves comprehension of mathmatical functions.  I didn't research it in depth because my older child ( age 6) is not old enough for this program.  It is recommended for ages 9 and up.  Perhaps someone else has actually tried it and can tell us whether it worthwhile.

Nevertheless will searching about Brainetics I came across this page (wildaboutmath.com) that takes you to examples for doing mental math.

I hope you like math as i do. This is for younger kids but nice to know those methods.
