I just found the Baby BumbleBee DVD/flashcard program on the internet and it looks good. Have you all found it to be effective? How about compared to other similar programs?
I just received the whole YBCR program and I like it ok but they don't give you a ton of flash cards or flap books, at least not as many as I thought
I'm just trying to get my daily teaching program organized for my 12 month old and if Baby Bumble BEEe is a lot better than I'd rather play those DVDs instead.

Infact I use the "Baby BumbleBee DVDs" and i use all the 16 of the them. I found them ausome for my child. My daughter loves it too.

Maths
Opposites
and many more

I personally don't love Baby Bumblebee. It might be good for children with special needs (speech issues, etc) but it's sooooo slow that the average child will be bored by it.
I would certainly say no!

Yes I agree, it's slow but you have an option to play it in Flash Card view which is fast.
But i guess it depends on individual taste.

Netflix has a bumble bee DVD is you'd like to try it out. You can sign up for with thier free trial- two weeks I think. Or join for around $5 a month. They don't have YBCR.

I think that Baby bumble bee is geared more toward learning language than reading. I like it for this purpose & dd really enjoys it. I think it is actually marketed towards kids with language issues due to autism. We do use the free flashcards too, but to me reading is the side benefit.

I have the bumblebee series and the YBCR. I have stated on here months ago and it still holds true that YBCR is her FAVOURITE!!! Bumblebee is slow...so few words in the same time as YBCR has lots of words. YBCR has so much more to keep a baby interested, and once they're off and running it's difficult to keep their interest. It's more colourful with large moving words, has songs like Old McDonald's farm, and has animals... babies love animals most of all I think. Thanks for mentioning the flashcard mode... hadnt thought of that... will try it though as Bumblebee just tends to be on in the background while she plays with her toys. Long gone are they days when you could just strap her into her rocker and plonk her infront of the TV screen... she couldnt go anywhere and had no choice but to watch.
Now I'm having heaps of trouble with Babybit and Tweedlewink. NO INTEREST. The music in between the lessons is more of interest. That's the time she'll look at the screen. And To constantly have to use the remote control to get to the next lesson every few minutes is INCREDIBLY frustrating and time consuming... I prefer to just plug it in and play continuously. Cant seem to do that with these... I'm told you can with WINK to Learn, and you can with the singapore Baby flashcard DVDs...

I don't recommend Baby bumblebee Math because it's very slow. BUt my son loves the Action words DVD of baby bumblebee. He imitates the action there. But for the vocabulary builders, they are very slow. It's more of a left-brain learning. But the contents are good.

I don't know BumbleBee but that is scary if it is slower than YBCR. Don't get me wrong, my son LOVES YBCR, but they put the words on the screen forever. Long enough for them to read them at least twice. I think my son loves looking at the other kids and animals but he could probably do without the flashing of the words. We just started Tweedlewink which starts and ends slow, but really flashing quickly in the middle. It isn't as "interesting" as YBCR but it definitely covers a lot very quickly.

I know. YBCR is soooo slow. After they show a word, my daughter quickly wants to see the image associated with it but it takes so long for them to get to the image that she starts looking away and then keeps her attention away for parts of the segment. If they would move it along faster, I think my daughter would be riveted most of the time. Instead it's a bit of a struggle.
I'm thinking of getting Tweedlewink. Do you like so far?
