I do not know about Touch Math so I cannot compare to it. But I have been using Jones Geniuses and you will not believe (even I cannot believe myself) that my soon-to-be 2 year old is doing additions with the help of stamps. So I strongly recommend Jones Geniuses. I also have to say that I am using other Montessori math activities with him along with Doman/Shichida math. My son seems to be a Mathy boy that he always loved the dot cards and even now begs me to show the cards to him.

One thing I just discovered!
We LOVE information on JonesGenius, especially as they are a smaller company with a more hands-on helping style.  I just got off the phone with Chris at JonesGenius from ordering the EL package, and he was a huge help.  On top of that, when I told him I was a BrillKids member and that the BrillKids coupon was expired, he told me they offer a 20 percent off DISCOUNT for BrillKid members....hope this helps a bit!

The difference between Touch Math and Jones Geniuses Matrix Math.  Touch Math uses double dots when they run out of space so the eight will have four dots within dots.  This is a bit too abstract for youngsters, not that they cannot get it eventually but the guiding principle of early learning should be to make things as simple as possible as the earliest stage.  In addition, by using all the dots you can create a matrix where the child only has to connect the dots to make the digit.  Writing the digits is an important part of the process of learning them which is not well served by the Touch Math dot within a dot system.  Also different are the multiple Dot Matrix funsheets at each level and the depth of instruction how to lead them through the process successfully.  Bravo to the mom above who has her child doing math before reaching two years old!  This is the average age of activation of the cerebral cortex which includes ability to understand symbols like digits & their quantities, letters & their sounds.  However, the cerebral cortex can be activated much earlier at only a few months in some cases.  Simplicity is the essence of success the younger the child.

Arvi, I am thrilled to read that your 2yo can do math! That's amazing! What level/package did you purchase?

Actually I use both programs. I don't think the double touch points are too abstract. Actually my son struggled more with the mess of dots on the 7,8, and 9 in the JG method. We switched over the TouchMath and he got it in one sitting. The worksheets in TM are more child friendly and fun. The main packages are very expensive, but they offer downloadable worksheets for homeschooling families. You order what you want and you can focus on what your child's needs are.
Now that my son is familiar with the TM system, he can easily use JG worksheets. We use them in for drills, but mostly so I don't feel like I wasted my money on the program.
One bonus of TM is the fact they allow you to download sample sheets to see if it works for your child. JG flat out refuses to send out samples to see if its a fit. You have to trust them. To be honest I would have never ordered their kit for 2-6 year olds and jumped right to the Matrix three had I been allowed to see the content. So now I'm very hesitate to order anything else from them. I'm praying that I can use JG 2-6 year program with my next little one, but I'm much happier with TM. Since JG worksheets actually had my son crying when we first started.

I also forgot that Touch Math doesn't just cover basic addition, subtraction, etc. They also cover fractions, time, geometry, Algebra Patterning, money, etc. All from an early age.

Just need to check with all of you who are more exposed with JG & TM.
My bb is 16 months old & had been on LM for 5 months.
We sit her down daily for 1/2 hour twice daily for LR, LM & LC.
She could point to all body parts now when we say it, but not able to talk much.
So for maths, we dont know if she learns anything yet.
Is it necessary for us to get JG or TM, and if so any info of where to get them in Malaysia ?
Thx to all !  yes

Hhhmm. I may be biased a bit because I haven't actually played around with TM! But here is a major bonus for me as far as starting out! JonesGeniuses seems to be working amazingly well for many kids as per reviews on their website as well as here on BrillKids...but so does TM!  But the Early Learning Math program from JonesGeniuses is around $100 to start, then they offer a 20 percent discount to BrillKids members.  The TM preschool package (and even I have to admit it LOOKS a million times more exciting LOL), is $600 to start with no BrillKids discount that I could come up with Wink
That being said, I would agree with Waterdreamer that no amount of money is worth saving if it doesn't work for you or if your child is in tears with frustration!!!!
One thing I would say is this...when I ordered my package I had a 30-minute conversation with Chris, the go-to-guy at JonesGeniuses...he told me a story about a woman who ordered the EL package for her child and they really struggled with it for a few days and it ended up in the closet...they forgot about it and later, when the kid was really struggling with math, brought it out again...with truly great results...Chris told me that one of the benefits to using JonesGeniuses is that because they are a smaller company, whose success was dependent upon word of mouth, they want ALL their clients to succeed.  He told me that if I had any problems to immediately get back to them for help to try to solve any maths (or other issues) problems...this makes me feel very supported and excited for my kiddo!
Anyway, I feel like I should tell you that I have absolutely no affiliation with JonesGeniuses, and paid for my product just like all of you!  In addition I have exactly zero experience with interaction from the TM team...in fact, I would be very interested in hearing from anyone else's experience with them...
Just wanted to share my pleasant experience with anyone who is trying to decide, and am hoping others who have more experience withTM can chime in as it does look exciting!

The TouchMath Program is designed for children preschool-second grade and remedial students in grades 3-12. Although parents use the program for younger children, it is not designed for babies or toddlers under the age of 3. Many of the beginning concepts shown on the Jones Geniuses program are also available in the preschool TouchMath materials, however, they work best with children who are already able to engage in interactive manipulation such as handling and counting objects or coloring. The greatest single difference between the two programs in the area of early education  is TouchMath’s ability to relate quantities directly to numerals, a skill that will be crucial as students age.

Research behind the program validates the multisensory approach and its effectiveness in engaging learners, boosting self confidence, and ultimately, raising test scores. TouchMath is the only program that uses the actual numeral as a manipulative, where students use numerals to see, say, hear, touch, and learn math concepts. The involvement of all senses levels the playing field by engaging all learning modalities.

I would encourage anyone interested to check out the free samples and other testimonials, videos, etc., on www.touchmath.com to see thoughts, ideas, strategies, and best practices shared by fellow educators. Our facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/pages/TouchMath/155919314866, also offers some great insight from those who have used the program with their children and students.

Thanks for all you do in inspiring young people to reach their academic potential!

I'm glad to see that Bob sent you the link Janet! My son and I LOVE TouchMath, and trust me we have tried many math products before finding yours.

Hhhmm. I may be biased a bit because I haven't actually played around with TM! But here is a major bonus for me as far as starting out! The kit your looking at if designed for schools, if you look at their downloadable programs, they are WAY cheaper. You order the sheets you want, and you get to see them before you buy. They also from time to to have sales. I agree $600 is too much money, I'm on a budget too. But I use the downloads, order exactly what I want. Plus I get to see it before I order. This also allows me to ONLY order what I need for that month, instead of paying a lump sum right up front. No waiting, not expensive shipping. I pay and get the email with my worksheets.

Aahh, I never found that! Can you post the link here as I, and I am sure others Would like to take a look!
Thanks for the clarification Waterdreamer..I see that Janet Bullock seem to recommend it for older kids than mt 2 year old, but I think most parents here are like me and now only look at that in passing, and read the descriptions more...can you tell me what age your kiddo was when he started?
