Little man in the map
http://www.schoolsidepress.com/The book is delightful; through a little imagination it turns the states into pictures and makes up rhymes making the geography of states into a story that is very easy to remember.
Four states make up MIM, the little man in the map, while the rest of the states make various shapes including a table, food, his bag and much much more. He goes about the state in a logical sequence and makes abbreviations for anything that might be too difficult to remember even with illustrations AND rhymes!
The book is a hardcover of great quality and the illustrations are great and are easily imprinted into children's minds. For a tour through the book, check the video on their website.
A teacher's guide full of game and activity ideas is available to complement the book as well. There is a pre-reading discussion that helps prep the stage for the book and many post-reading ones divided by grades. These involve math, art, writing, a crossword puzzle and more designed to enhance the learning process and make the geography stick and be even more fun!
On the website they also have free coloring pages from the book. There's also a wall map for sale (and a discount if you buy it and the book at the same time).
The next book for the state capitals is coming out soon; I really can't wait for the maps of the rest of the continents of the world!
