Your baby can read vs tweedlewink (i.e flash card)

Hi all,

I am not sure if anyone can discuss this topic before because I don't seem to find it.
I am wondering if any moms have actually shown these two sets to their babies.

For tweedlewink program, it follows Doman's method which is specifically for right brain.  As for "Your baby can read" DVD program, I am on the Starter video and the word just appears repetitively.  The lady told me to follow the viewing schedule since it is important that baby begins to recognize the words in the Starter video.  This will happen only after seeing the video many times. Repetition is important.   She mentioned repetition and it makes me feel like it's using more left brain.

Any comments on this?

On a side note, I use both programs with my son. I think something, like learning how to read, must be taught in a very repetitive fashion. Children must see words over and over in order to pick up on the rules of language. Other things, like math dots and general knowledge, can be taught easier in a right brain fashion because they don't need to be scrutinized. It is easier for young children to retain facts and pictures if taught in the right brain fashion.

You know, after my baby (almost 23-month.. yes, I still call her baby) has watched the YBCR, she doesn't like to watch the tweedlewink. She has already finished the first 4 DVDs from tweedlewink and now I am waiting for the 5th  to come.  Hopefully she will still like it!

Have you tried showing Tweedlewink at different times of the day? You are supposed to show it when your baby is tired or when she has just woken up. Maybe she would be more receptive if she is tired. I show it just before I get Gabe ready for bed, and he looks forward to watching it every night.

I usually show it in the morning after she has her first milk and after poop, and she actually asks me to show her now!  And today, I showed her twice because after dinner, she asked me to show her "baby", which she refers to the YBCR.

I am a working mom and thus previously I didn't have enough time, and now, I am on my vacation and I am actually waiting for my second baby to be born, so I am home all the times!

Now if I show her tweedlewink, she will ask me for "baby" instead.  Maybe I should show her YBCR in the morning, then tweedlewink after she wakes up from nap, then YBCR when she requests

Hi Alma,

 I had purchased the tweedlewink math cds. I would say overall its not that bad. There are 4 lessons, 1-100, multiplication, addition & subtraction and geometry. The geometry part is quite intesresting. about the addition and subtraction part this is not in detail...if to be compared with LM, Lm is much better. The quality of the cds are not in good condition.
