New Product from YBCR

I received an ad for a new series from the creators of Your Baby Can Read.  It is called Your Child Can Discover.  The website is www.YourChildDiscovers.com.  It looks interesting.  It teaches colors, beyond the basic, geometric shapes, logic patterns, music, numbers and prepositions.  It comes with 5 books, 3 dvds for babies and 3 dvds for children plus a music book and cd.  I think you can get it from Toys R Us online for about $79.99 or less.  Does anyone already have this?  I would love to hear what others think.

I was just about to purchase Sparkabilities when I saw this post and now I am wondering if YBCD covers the same concepts.  For a little more money it looks like the YBCD comes with more accessories.  I have never used any YBCR products.

I have no idea, but there is a sample clip on the website that shows a song about colors.  I think it looks cute.  I think Toys R Us had the best price and free shipping.  If you get it please let me know how you like it.  I am not sure if Sparkabilities teaches music and prepositions and I am not sure how they even teach these on the YCCD.  Anyone else used this?  I think it might be brand new since there are no reviews at all online.

Ohhh. I have one of the books. The preposition one. Maggie really liked it. I'm guessing this expands on what is in the books?  
I didn't know this product was out either.

Great, Mela.  Let me know.  I really want to order it and I may not wait.  I just saw it in Sunday's paper in the Smart Source section.  The price is reasonable, that's for sure.

I agree, the price isn't bad. Even if you purchase it from them because you can get the Music book and CD too plus games.
But then I'm a little hesitant to order directly from them with their not so good record of customer service.

Is the music stuff only from them directly?  I didn't even notice that.

I believe so. I didn't see that on the Toy's R US website. I think its kind of like when you could order YBCR and then get the YCCR . Its an extra 'bonus' so to speak.
Plus you can somewhere download games that go with the program too from YCCD. But that looks to be exclusive with the set on their original website.

Thanks for pointing out that the books are the books they tried to upsell me when I ordered the YBCR set.  Is the preposition book for the children to read?  Can you give me an example of 2 pages, for example, how they read?  I am curious if Gabriella would like them.  I guess they made dvds to go with the other set of books.  Pretty smart.

Ahh, okay. I just went by with what I saw on the screen. LOL  Guess I should of read the description. If that's the case then Toys R Us is the better deal then.

The Discover books really are the Your Baby Can Learn Books. 

I'll give you an example. They are pretty much set up like the YBCR books but at the inside of the flap they include more sentences you can use to demonstrate to your child what the preposition means. 

For instance on the outside flap you will have:   beside
Then you lift the flap and there are several sentences you can use to demonstrated beside 
You are beside me.
My hand is beside my face.
This blue looks light beside the darker blue.
And so on.  Then on the inside page there are pictures with sentences below them to read to your child with the word.
When I get a moment I'll take a photo and show you. Its easier to see than to describe. But they pretty much follow the YBCR books.

Thanks for posting the details of the YBCD that is on the toys r us website.  I was just about to do that.  I just ordered it from there.  The free shipping is for orders over $100.   They are having a sale on fisher price items.  Buy one get one free up to $24.99.  It might be possible the free game download will still be available but I am not sure since I have never bought any YBCR products before.

Thanks, ladies.  I went to Toys R us and put it in my cart and saw that there was not free shipping.  Bummer.  I am thinking that maybe the games are on a flier inside the kit.  Hopeful thinking anyway.  I hope you get it quickly, Mela and tell us what you think.  I will wait until I hear your impression before I order it.  I look forward to a picture Tracy.
