I was recently presented with two homeschooling items to review, and I thought I’d share them here maybe someone would be interested to know about them
I am not a homeschooler, but I still benefit a LOT from homeschooling products
They usually have lovely ideas about how to make learning fun and how to organize your day and plan ahead
Especially useful if you have lots of kids, are a working parent or just like structure and organization.
Also, I am not a Christian, and these products are Christian based. I still don’t find that much of a problem, since they provide good content that I can then adapt to my own faith
This one I absolutely LOVE! It probably has all the forms you’ll ever need to organize your life and a little more! It has two types of forms, schooling forms and housekeeping forms. They both serve to manage everything and everyone in the household! Planning has never been easier in my opinion. The trick, start backwards! The second half of this book has ALL the planning forms you can ever think of (I think!), this is the impressive and most unique part. The first half of the book is equally useful, with lovely to the point information articles such as how to make math fun and how to teach writing, relationship articles, easy and delicious recipes that both kids and adults will love and miscellaneous trivia such as conversion charts and countries and capitals. It also has its share of USA-specific information such as a list of presidents as well as a hint of Christianity (though not as much as the magazine), but both are not in abundance and can easily be overlooked if you are not Christian or American (as I am!)
I seriously loved this because I felt it was of great time-saving value to me, as in I don’t have to hunt down forms online or create my own, and also because of its great potential for getting my act together and getting organized once and for all!
You can find the whole table of contents and some samples in the sneak preview on the link above, look at it to decide if those specific titles, recipes, articles and forms are worth so much for you as they are for me
I was only allowed one issue to view, but I also browsed the sample on their website, and think the two issues are more or less the same. If you like to read personal inspirational stories, and know how other families are homeschooling and handling their children, including those that are disabled, adopted and gifted, then this is a magazine for you. It is back-to-back full of personal recounts, from families that have adopted kids from every race across the globe and others that describe their experience with ADHD children. It also has a few articles that are USA specific such as homeschooling court battles or new laws and a section for readers’ comments. I’m the type of person who prefers tips and how-tos and informational articles. That’s why I loved the second half of the magazine! I was almost giving up on it and dismissing it as a not-my-type-of-publication when I came across article after article about how to help our kids love reading, another about nature walking as an excellent way to learn, and yet others about understanding kinesthetic children, gifted children and special needs ones as well. It also has an “academics” section that includes unit studies, facts and projects to do about a certain topic each issue.
All in all, it’s a well rounded publication. Maybe you’d prefer to read something that is ALL stories or ALL information; but if you like this mix then you’ll definitely enjoy this 180-pages magazine. Watch out for tens of ads though! I personally thought they were a bit too much, but I actually liked one or two of those advertised products at the same time ;D

P.S. I'm not affiliated to them in any way, I just wrote this review already and thought I'd share it here!
