Baby Signing Time???

Hi,

I dont know much about Baby Signing  Time.
I actually saw this term today at this forum itself and then i saw some videos on youtube.

My baby is 6 months.
Can i start this now?

What is the benefit of Baby Signing Time?

Anybody used it please advise.

I have another question.
There are Baby Sign Time dvdv available in the market.

How should we use it i.e. like YBCR ideally we should show that to baby twice in a day...
How about Baby Sign Time schedule?

I don't know how others have incorporated Baby Signing time but my son (6 months) loves them. I do not let him watch TV or entertainment cartoons or DVDs so Baby Signing time is entertainment to him. When I need to shower, cook or talk on the phone I put on one of the DVDs.  So he watches one for entertainment at least once a day and I sit with him to learn the signs and interact with him during the playing of the DVD.  I use the signs for millk, cereal, water, apple, and just started eat and drink. I purchased mine from their website but have seen them on ebay and amazon.com. 

Even if my son doesn't continue with sign language I feel the child parent interaction is valuable.  My hope is that sign language helps us communicate while he is learning to talk.  Maybe even ward off some toddler temper tantrums
