Survey: Should Readeez offer worldwide shipping?

Hey. It's Michael, from Readeez.

So...I'm thinking about maybe possibly adopting a "We Ship Worldwide" policy and I wanted to ask this community for input.

My company is based the U.S., but more than a few parents have asked us to ship DVDs to them overseas. I've done this on occasion in the past, but frankly, it takes significant time. It means someone from my company (usually me) takes a trip to the Post Office (urg!), and fills out of a U.S. Customs form, both of which I really do not enjoy.

I suppose another option would be shipping FedEx International -- they would come to me and pick up shipments. But I believe they'd be pretty expensive (perhaps $15 or $20 per order).

The most likely scenario would be to ship by U.S. Post, and add a handling charge to the shipping cost on overseas orders (including Canada--sorry!).

Shipping itself is actually pretty cheap (maybe $4 to 5 to send a couple DVDs from the US to Australia, and I believe it's comparable for Asian countries). But I'd need to add a few bucks to cover the time/labor for dealing with the shipping. U.S. orders are simple: Stick on the stamps, drop in the box downstairs.

By the way, for the many who have asked, Readeez DVDs are coded "Region Free," meaning they play in every country's DVD players (at least they have so far).

So, a few questions:
 
1. Would you be interested in buying Readeez DVDs (and our CD, which is, ahem, excellent, and comes with a 32-page color lyrics booklet)
    a) Only if you could use BrillKids Loyalty points to get them at a discount; or
    b) At full price, if we'd ship them to you in your (non-US) country

2. Would you be willing to pay a surcharge of $7 or $10 per order? (This would be for as many DVDs/CDs as you wanted to buy)

3. Have you had good/bad experiences with companies shipping from the U.S. in the past? For example, does your country charge import or customs fees, or hold the goods a long time?

For those of you who've already taken advantage of the Partner Program to buy Readeez downloads, THANK YOU! And, if we do begin to ship overseas, and if what you really wanted was the physical products, I'll probably work out a credit for your previous purchase.

As I look at what other companies are doing for overseas shipping, I see they run the gamut from "Free" to "Very expensive." I can't do free shipping because my products are too inexpensive to make this worthwhile. And I won't do "Very Expensive" because it's not fair.

WOULD BUY REGARDLESS!  ACTUALLY...DID!  SENT IN MY ORDER LAST NIGHT.
 
    b) At full price, if we'd ship them to you in your (non-US) country  SAME AS ABOVE - I LIVE IN CANADA

2. Would you be willing to pay a surcharge of $7 or $10 per order? (This would be for as many DVDs/CDs as you wanted to buy) YES.  IT WOULD BE COMPLETELY FAIR TO CHARGE FOR YOUR WORK IN RUNNING AROUND AND DOING THE EXTRA LEGWORK IT TAKES TO GET IT INTO MY HOME.

3. Have you had good/bad experiences with companies shipping from the U.S. in the past? GOOD.  For example, does your country charge import or customs fees, or hold the goods a long time? I HAVE ONLY ORDERED U.S. DVDS, BOOKS OR CURRICULUM DOCUMENTS AND HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED CHARGES OR LENGTHY HOLDING PERIODS.

I would order regardless because my son is now obsessed with Readeez, my poor iphone battery is always dead now. (Look for my upcoming review!)
However a warning, I have been charged HIGH duty and taxes on some products. Seems to happen almost ALWAYS with FedEx. *shake fist*

Of course you know my response is Yes, Yes, Yes!  I have absolutely no problems with a handling charge.  Your product is more than worth it. High quality and very reasonably priced.    Have not had any issues with orders from the US to date.
