Wink to Learn

i have all of it its good for accompaniment.... if there is such a word, anyway most of the word she seen before so its kind of refresher for her, but the short phrases and sentences is good for her, just that i notice the pictures the small kids are speaking in mandarin .... as can be seen from their mouth movement, whereas the words coming out of the tv speaker is english so i guess they just dubbed over it ......

so what i do is watch with her sitting just below the tv and repeat what was said she iwll look at my mouth movement ...... i just treat it as a short edutainment product .... and not the be all and end all ....

i think the chinese should help but its in simplified form .... that is beijings chinese and not taiwan chinese, not to be confused with HK chinese (which is actually a local dialect called cantonese)

oh yah english is HM english ... as in the queens english ...

Can anyone share how successful is wink to learn program is?

I play wink to learn program as well as your baby can read to my 9mtsh old baby till now. I never tested her, so i am not sure whether she recognises the words. She is now 19months.

I just want to know the result, is it effective? 

I played it for my 3 years old kid. He couldn't recognised most of the words. I can say among all the dvd i played he knew only few words.

Aside of playing wink to learn + your baby can read simultaneously, i read to both of my kids daily by pointing words.

Care to share your result?

we love the Right Brain option at the end of each chapter where you can see all the pictures and hear the sounds at really quick speed - very cool feature.

Could anyone comment on the Right Brain function / their views on this product?

I am a fan of TweedleWink but I am looking for new material as my daughter has watched TW over and over. I would like fast-moving DVD's, and the voice should not drone on (monotonous)

Any opinions?

Mine started watching Wink-to-learn Chinese at 5months old, and Wink-to-learn English at 7 months' old (prior to that he was watching Your baby can read as well - obviously in english).  Despite the difference in American/British English, we discovered he could recognise words by the time he was 10 mths old.  Definitely by 18months, he could read both Chinese & English quite well altho' his enunciation was poor (but then he was pretty much a "baby", right?).  He somehow figured out phonetics too and would try to read new words.  For Chinese, this is trickier, since it's character-based and not phonetic.

Our boy is 23 mths now and has a wide vocabulary and we just keep building on it by reading more and more books.
