We've had the Tweedlwink series for a few months and so far, the kids (3 yrs old & 1 yr old) are enjoying them.  The Math program has helped our 3 yr old with skip counting & "understanding" basic fractions -- we also play alot of games with pretend pizza slices, but he gets the concept of whole, 1/2, 1/4...it's quite exciting to see him share 1/2 of the pizza with his little sister.  We have the 6 volumes of Tweedlewink & so far the kids are interested, we rotate showing the dvds so their interest level still remains high.  Overall, I think it's a great product!

Hi Guys,
I'm about to purchase the TweedleWink package w/ 9 DVD's + Intro, and would like to know if anyone has purchase it before and what did you think about it?
Unfortunately I drive a lot with my girls (3 and 1 years old) and I use the DVD player in the car, generally with portuguese DVD's (to help them with my language), or any other good DVD I came across.
I was wondering if it is worth the investiment on TweedleWink, please help, if you can.
Thank you so much.

I got my DVD's yesterday (from cassidy336) and I'm happy to report that the quality was good enough for my HDTV TV. Also, and most important part, my daughter really liked them  happy When the lesson was over she looked at me like "Is that it? Can we watch some more?" ( My daughter doesn't speak yet, but I could read her face  LOL ). I love she is getting some BITS with this lessons, becuase I have no started the program yet. I have been a little bit intimidated wub . Conclusion: I recommend this product. smile

I showed my daughter two different Twidlewink DVDs, a few different lessons and ... she is absolutely not interested. I am just curious if anyone has similar reaction.

The interesting thing is that she has exceptionally good long attention span, she loves pattern phonics and any other LR lessons and will be very attentive EVERY time I will show it to her. The same goes for Little Pim or LM. She would be very attentive with flashcards as well, or when we are reading books. The moment I put TweeddleWink, she starts to fuss and show that she does not want to watch it.

I tried different lessons, at different times, and came to conclusion that she is definetly not interested in them, regardless of circumstances... Anyone else had similar experience? Can it be possibly background music, I am more curious about the principal behind this then in relation to any particular program....

I showed my daughter (15m tomorrow) lesson 1 dvd 1 two days ago. She wasn't really paying attention, missing a few parts as she was looking around. I tried again last night, and this morning and she was watching for a little bit longer.

I expected she wouldn't be that enthusiastic as she's never been into flashcards and it really took her a while (few months!) to grow used to LR.
I'll keep on showing her though. I make sure I sit near her, and focus on the screen. She might think it's interesting if mummy keeps watching it!  wub

Well, I tend to think there is more to it then just "getting used to", and do not feel, that I want to encourage her to "watch it in-spite..." so just wondering if anyone else had the same experience, as I mentioned my girl has a very good attantion span, and she never had to "get used to" LR or any other programs we have used or introduced.

So for now, I feel it is just not something that she can benefit from perhaps? After all if she sets the learning and developmental pace in so many areas (her desire to use potty since 10 days old; asking for more LR lessons, loving math, setting pace with montessory activities, etc.), then I feel that I can trust her lead in the area that somehow this particular teaching method is "not right for her" at least at this point of time.

I was just curious if someone else had similar experience, with this or some other teaching system, and what their thoughts on that... I was just amaized on how particular she was about it...

To be honest after warching some clips from YouTube I don't think my son would be interested much in this either. But maybe we will try it one day.

I completely understand where you're coming from Skylark. Of course I would not advise to feed a child educational programs for their own good without taking their reaction into consideration. What i meant is that babies can change from one day to the next and loathe an activity, only to adore it the next day. So in my case it would make sense to put the dvd away for a few days/weeks, or try at a different time to see if she's more interested. it also seems that your baby has a definite adverse reaction to TW. Mine just seems to dream while watching it. 8 mn might also be too long-and some categories, such as 'vocabulary boosters' can be a bit boring.
But still I don't regret getting the program.

Waterdreamer,

Could you please give me the tweedlewink links available in youtube. I could spot only one and that is this <a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/sEeLcrv_S8w&rel=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/sEeLcrv_S8w&rel=1</a>

Thanks,

I dont think boring is an issue... she loves pattern phonics from LR and can watch periodic table that Nikki done ( which is petty technical)... May be it is the background music, which can make the baby confused, becase we use classical music on its own for teaching, so may be she just thinks, "hey, I can not concentrate on both at the same time"  smile  But I agree, we will just see a few months down the line, plus I am very pleased with other activities she does.

On the other hand, she is also VERY particular about music, she can listen to skillflly played classical guitar, violine or grand piano for up to 40 minutes, which is more then I would  LOL  but then she really does not care for music where notes are not clearly played as in classical guitar, but more a combination of muffled cords, like some popular music ( I have a hard time explainng that, ha). So may be she just have certain preferences...

I totally get it.  After viewing it on youtube about 6 months ago, my son said "no no". He did not like it either.  I think it was a mixture of the way too soothing background music and the voice was too soothing ( My boy is really energetic and I think he needs to feel more energy coming from the speakers voice to engage him) He does great with rock and learn dvds and I put the brainy baby dvd flashcards on for him and he seems to like it.  We're not really structured with the DVDs.  I mainly let it play  through while he's playing with his Thomas trains, puzzles, drawing, jumping, snacking etc.  I put it in a few times a week and I know that what he doesn't catch one day, he'll catch the next.  I think he likes the brainy baby flashcard dvd better because it's louder, clearer, and  the corresponding words are shown for everything that they review.    My son is really interested in letters and words so it definitely helps to get DVDs that expose him to more written vocab.  I know he catches pieces and bits because he'll often stop what he's doing, listen, look, repeat for a while then keeps on what he was playing with, another while later he'll do the same thing.  So that works good for us. My son is really interested in letters and words so it definitely helps to get DVDs that expose him to more written vocab. I think that since some of his first exposure to dvds were the YBCR dvd's it seems to reallly help if the dvd's that I introduce him to have a similar type of format.. meaning the association of the written word to what's being learned.
