Hi Guys!
I'm wondering if anyone here uses Tweedlewinks for your 4-5year olds? My son LOVES TW and will watch it over and over if I let him. I'm just wondering what a good viewing schedule would look like for someone his age.
Thanks!

Hi, waterdreamer:

I am glad that your son loves to watch the TW lessons. As we always say "follow the child". When you say he watches over and over, how much time and how many lessons you are referring to?

Maria Montessori believes that children have innate drive for learning and will gravitate to the subjects they need to learn at the particular time. Our job is to provide the environment and satisfy that need.

Depends, some days he'll watch 3 lessons in a row and then ask to do something new, then other days he'll watch all 4 and want more. At this point he's watched 32mins of tv and that is enough in my eyes.
I'm also wondering how many times do you show a lesson before you move on and retire it?
Thanks so much for replying

My son used to always watch 4 lessons in a row. But it usually is enough after 4 lessons.

The lesson is designed to repeat, not necessary at the same time, but in a different developmental stage. Usually 2 to 3 times per lesson is a good guideline. Say you show the lessons to your son now, and he likes to repeat 2-3 times per lesson. Then perhaps next year, you can take out the lessons and show him again.

We receive lots of questions from our customers and we are now organizing those wonderful questions into a database so that people can look through it and find answers to a similar questions. I will share it with you when it is done.

Hi, Monique:

Yes, the database is done. You will find many good questions and answers there.

http://support.rightbrainkids.com/

And as for DVD8, I am awfully sorry for the delay because we were redoing the speed
reading portion. And the good news is that is all done, and the DVD is in its final stage of
reviewing. So, hopefully soon.  smile

Wennie

My 3 1/2 year old son, Nicolas, absolutely hates tweedlewink. When I try to show him the videos, he purposely turns his head away so he doesnt have to watch it. I even gave him a month off. I'm very discouraged, as these videos did cost a lot of money for us, but really because I want my Nicolas to absorb as much as he can. Any suggestions?

Hi Wennie
Are you planning on releasing the TW dvds in French?
There aren't any program like yours on the market.

Also I'm considering purchasing the book you advertise on the website, is it a paper or digital book?

Many thanks!

Hi, Robine:

There are two main points to remember about right-brain education.

One is that you always want it to be fun, joyful and stress-free. That's the alpha-wave frequency of the right brain.

The other is that information is taken in to the right-brain peripherally and through all the senses, even when a child is not looking directly at the cards or the screen.

So what that means is if your son does not want to watch the DVD and says "turn off," then it's not fun or joyful for him.  And there's no point to playing the DVD, because his right brain is saying "not interested" right now.

There are many reasons why your son reacts that way. Is the lesson being repeated too many times? Is he being forced to sit down and watch while his body needs to move? If he is used to television viewing, with story-telling or animation, then he will not like the flashcards any longer, so you have to give it in a light, joyful manner.

I will suggest to just play the lessons in the background and don't force focused viewing. Because right brain is the emotional brain and our thoughts and feelings have definite influence. If the child feels stressed, it will block the absorption.

I also highly recommend you to check out our Q&A database. Your question is partially answered under (c)TweedleWink DVDs under "how to view" and "results". Here is the link: http://support.rightbrainkids.com/index.php?cmd=faq

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Wennie

Hello, Hypatia:

We would love to have our TW available in many different languages. Unfortunately we don't have enough man power to do it. If you or anyone you know of are interested, we are certainly open for it.

Our next language is Chinese. :-)

If you are referring to Pamela's book "changing the world one heart at the time", it is a paper copy, not digital. Now you mention it, it might not be a bad idea!

Wow - that's great to know.  I just bought TW and was showing him vol 1 and the math. He kept asking to see more & more! He simply loves it - our 26mth old.  But I refrained from showing too many and stopped at 3 lessons, bc it's only day 2 of watching ....

Hi, Karmie:

I am glad you saw that post, however, I did another one that you might not see. Showing one lessen 1-3 time is a rule of thumb, however, if your child wants to watch more, then do not refrain showing it. The key is "follow your child"!

Imaging if you are very excited on something and want to know more about it, but somebody stops you and do not let you proceed? It will be incomplete and frustrating, right? It will be more so for children.

Some parents worry if their children watch many lessons at once and then the DVD lessons will be shown only for a short period. But in fact,  The lessons can be shown as many times as many developmental cycles as you want, as long as it is enjoyable to the child.

My son watched lots of DVD lessons in a gulp when little, then he did not watch it for a long time, and then he wanted again. Now at age 7.5, he started from lesson 1 again in our center this year, and he enjoys the lessons even more! The content in TweedleWink lessons are very rich, so as long as your child enjoys the lessons, it goes into their right brain regardless of their age. :-)

One parent just told me last week that he bought our DVD sets last year and his children did not have much interests on watching the lessons. But he started sending his children to our center this year, and now, the children will "request" to watch TweedleWink DVDs at home with much excitement and enjoyment.

Hope this information helps!

Regards,
Wennie

No problem at all!  We repeated those lessons 1 to 3 many times already!  I'll progress to Lesson 4 another day.  Anyway, we only have vol 1 & the math dvd, bc I was afraid he'd not like it.  But maybe bc he grew up watching flashcard DVDs, so he loves it.

We were just watching the Jap DVD (WTL) and he was having a hilarious time with the names of fruits. haha.
