Wink to Learn

I ordered the set a week ago, from Singapore to Australia, and a few days later they arrived!!  They are good, and seem to hold her attention quite a bit. And they have a play all button so the whole DVD plays right through, so I can go do some housework while she is learning.

so glad you posted- how is the video quality/  Wink if for 4 and up correct- ?  this is my next purchase I think but wondering if it's worth it if I haven'tt aken their course can I ask your opinion on this?  Thank you

I mean Wink to Learn, not Wink. Wink is from Right Brain kids, and they have Tweedlewink for the littlies, Wink is for either 4 or 6 and up (cant remember). And a course. Wink to Learn dont have a course, but they have discount coupons on here.

And the quality is really good and clear with both. Visually and audio-wise.

I've got Wink to learn Chinese. The picture and audio is clear, some minor echo sometimes on the speed flash lessons. All in all it's good. Certainly save you some time of material searching and preparation, especially when you don't speak Chinese.

Is this American English.  I think I looked on their site and they had an "s" where we would use a "z" and I was afraid it would be confusing.

I'm not sure, as the speaker is Singaporean. I'm sure most words would be acceptable to you. Unfortunately with so many different spellings, accents and pronunciations in the world you wont get it all the way you would like it. You wont be happy to know colours is spelled "colours", not the american way. It's spelled the Correct way... the English way. Now even among English speakers, there's lots of different dialects and pronunciations.  If they cant all agree and get English right, what hope have the rest of us got.

I also have wink to learn and the kids enjoy it, especially the added bonus at the end of each lesson. The pics and audio are clear and I am learning from it as well!

Is Tweedle Wink American English? I know Wink to learn is British English. I don't think using British English will work. I think it will confuse him.

Exactly, Pat. That is why I haven't bought several programs. Tweedlewink is American. It is made right here in the states by Americans. Everything is spelled the way we know it.

Glad to know that Wink to Learn is British English.  That won't work for us.

In Australia we work with both British and American English. It is not really that biggar deal. It is easy to work with both and it is not that confusing. I think that it is very important to learn both ways, because if your children ever go overseas to study where British English is used they will be picked up on using American English. I think it helps us to be more flexible where ever we go.

We use wink to learn- we like it a lot, very clear and we love the Right Brain option at the end of each chapter where you can see all the pictures and hear the sounds at really quick speed - very cool feature.  I see no problem with the English - the differences if any are not that noticeable as to make it a problem for kids.

A really good product in my opinion.
