MY Mama used to say that when kids are too happy during the day, laughed too much and screamed too much in excitement and fun, will end up having nightmare. maybe not too much playtime before bed will help reduce the nightmare?

my cousin used babyplus and her daughter is not calm and easy to soothe baby as the product claimed. she is not difficult to handle but she always cries, especially when she sees stranger. this may not be due to babyplus, but i just dont think the product is worth it.

when you do flash cards, flash something interesting that she likes to see. slip one or two of her photos, or daddy's photo in between, maybe she likes that, or something she likes to see, any cartoon character or something. my daughter can't sit through flash cards, i ask her to hold her soft toy, and said 'we need to show panda flash cards', but then she hold panda upright and look at the flash cards at the same time. sometimes she cover her eyes and look elsewhere,, like playing hide and seek, then i'll ask , 'oh, where is tt,,? where is tt?, oh there you are.. '.

EARLY LEARNING / Early Learning - General Discussions / Re: TV debate - do these educational videos count?
|
on: November 23, 2010, 09:30:03 AM

i think educational video like little pim is okay. the pace is slower unlike those in cartoon network or the television programs that adults watch are too fast paced. I think that's in the book, i hope I get the name right, Detoxing Children by Sue Palmer , mentioned something like tv programs too fast paced, actually tune the kids mind too fast pace, and then when the look around in reality,, the pace is slow and they get out of tune.. something like that. anyway, my daughter doesnt really watch all the 30 minutes of little pim when she was younger, she will walk around and watch and stop, so it is not really a full 30 minutes. i follow the Tweedlewink guideline in their overview chart on the length of video time at certain characteristic.

live in a better world, use the whole brain and not just the left brain. be creative to solve problems that can't be solve in this generation, not to resort to war,, it is strange how man can land on the moon, yet cannot resolve conflict. behave boys! the ego of mankind, still cannot be solved in thousands of years.
