I am so fortunate I don't have to deal with this situation as my 13 year old is thriving academically in a private school    and I chose to homeschool my 2 younger ones ages 6 and 4...     I would love to hear others opinions or experience on your question as it is a very good one :0

Oh one more thing we did that was so much fun is we printed out small flags of the world ( one inch or so by two inches)  and pasted them onto popsicle   sticks (one flag per sick).  We organized the flags by continents.  So all the flags of Africa would go into one continent container.   To make this more fun we had printable maps and the children could match the stick to the correct country of the world    Just a fun way of learning for my kids    You can also do this project with all of the countries and that is what im working on making now ......

Not sure if this site will help but they are coloring pages of the world flags.  My children and I color the flag and then use them as a flash card for review.  This REALLY helped with them learning the flags

Hi,  I am located In Florida USA   Loving homeschooling in Florida... 

I think it all depends on the situation.  I have a 17 , 13, 6, and 4 year old.  I think my youngest does benefit from the older ones in many ways.   It sounds like your son in my opinion would benefit from this situation.  Socializing and learning comes from all different age levels not just one   Hope this helps....

Im glad you liked them   I have 3 children ages 13, 6, and 4.   We are homeschooling our younger ones and what I do is supplement the power points into our lesson plans.  For example if we are learning about early civilizations I through in a few power points, or even videos from you tube.  We also find a lot of art work to do along with our lessons.  I started curriculum for my children when they were babies .  For instance if we were studying Africa I would get a map of africa and let them spounge paint it with apples.  Not only were they learning their alphabet and so on but also geography    I have tons of ideas I used with my children when they were younger and would share them if your interested.  A thought though I NEVER made them sit in front of a computer if they lost the interest,  I would move on to something else   I use so many learning materials and suppements from singapore math, kumon, hands on math, videos , my own instruction, homeschool group lessons such as science history etc,  we love field trips and also my kids enjoy the virtural filed trips.  Im sorry for going on and on   Much happiness to you and your children's learning adventures

Yes,  that is a good site also.  I like the one i found too as i can use so many of the pictures and there are other activities other than the videos.  Both are wonderful and enjoyable for my children. 

Here is another site I found.  You may or may not like it as I have listed some (i thought were great sites)  and others here did not enjoy.  Just thought I would mention as maybe it can be of use to some of you.
