122  EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child Math / Re: how do you make learning math fun? on: April 30, 2009, 01:12:34 PM
nhockaday, I'd love to buy LM, the software for Macintosh isn't available though so I have no choice but doing math with cards and power point

I talked with my husband about our problem, we came up with the idea of doing puppet shows with cards, this should be fun for my son smile
123  EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child Math / how do you make learning math fun? on: April 29, 2009, 11:41:06 PM
My son lost his interest in dots, both cards and power point.
I could use some ideas on how to make math funny and interesting so my son will look forward to it.

Thanks

great website, thanks smile

126  Local Support Groups / General Discussions / Re: strategie i polski :) on: April 25, 2009, 12:17:27 PM

127  Local Support Groups / General Discussions / ksiazki Waszego dziecinstwa on: April 25, 2009, 12:07:02 PM
ciekawa jestem jakie ksiazki wywarly na Was niezatarte wrazenie w dziecinstwie

Niezapomniane klasyki to oczywiscie "Ania z Zielonego Wzgorza" i "Dzieci z Bullerbyn" .

128  Parents' Lounge / General Parenting / Re: What tips would you like to share with first-time parents? on: April 24, 2009, 05:57:38 PM
My tip - buy a sling smile whenever my son cried or needed to be carried for any reason I would just put him in the sling where he would fall a sleep. When he was sick and needed to be carried for hours it was a lifesaver

Continuum Concept - book about importance of attachment, it played a big role in shaping my parenting style

How to teach you baby to read - of course smile Because of this book I decided to go to The Institute in Philadelphia and began schooling my son

129  Local Support Groups / General Discussions / Re: matematyk :) on: April 24, 2009, 12:17:05 PM
130  Local Support Groups / General Discussions / Re: strategie i polski :) on: April 24, 2009, 12:12:14 PM
Moze w koncu to zrobie.

131  Parents' Lounge / Introduce Yourself / Re: Goats Milk??? on: April 23, 2009, 05:38:12 PM
goat's milk is way better than cow milk, don't add any kind of sugar though, there are healthier sweeteners available at health food stores, agave sweetener or stevia for example
132  Parents' Lounge / General Parenting / Re: For Crying Out Loud -- Pick Up Your Baby on: April 23, 2009, 05:34:55 PM
Stacey, I agree, I used to wear my son 'till two months ago, now he refuses to sit in the wrap
I will never understand mothers who let their children cry it out for hours, this is barbaric in my opinion >Sad
133  Parents' Lounge / General Parenting / Re: breastfeeding poll on: April 21, 2009, 12:38:16 PM
I'm still breastfeeding and planning to go on  big grin
134  Parents' Lounge / Coffee Corner - General Chat / Re: Baby sling on: April 19, 2009, 05:27:21 PM
MY son is big so we don't use slings as much as we used to
My favorites are ring slings, I've had a few - Zolowear, Didymos, Storchenwiege, loved them all smile
135  EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child - Signing, Speaking, Languages / Re: Non-Chinese Speaking Mandarin on: April 19, 2009, 05:21:58 PM
wow, that's amazing

I'm wondering if watching little pim and other DVD's on regular basis is enough for small children to learn a language
