shame man
teething can be a rough time for a baby. try frozen apple juice on a stick. dont stress if she isnt eating as its probably sore. my son just wanted milk so i didnt stress him further. just remember that it is a natural part of life and will soon get better

the influence a dad has on his kids life must not be taken for granted. moms are naturally focused on the kids but imagine a home where dad is just as enthusiastic! thats def a breeding ground for little einsteins. i remember reading a study where kids growing up in a single male household faired better emotionally than in a single mom household (sorry moms but the guys got 1 up on us in this study)
men can give a child the confidence they need in a subtle way, without even trying. a confident child will be able to learn anything so do your best with your kids! karma to u

hi there
i wish i could give you an easy solution but i dont have any. babies start to show true feelings of anxiety and fear from 6-8 months. it is normal that your baby will find his first feeling of anxiety amongst strangers which is why he wants you. try handling your babies emotions by distracting him. also sticking to his routine will help him feel secure as his day is predictable especially the events leading to bedtime.
with lots of love your baby will soon pass this phase.

welcome
its fascinating how you have managed to homeschool six kids karma for that. there was a thread on early socialization about an article by doman. how did you cope with the socialization aspect?
i intend to homeschool and i feel really great about it but now and then i doubt whether that is the right thing. i want my child to have a great life and i want to offer him the best education available.
how has your experience been?

Local Support Groups / General Discussions / going potty

hi there.
its so weird how nothing has made me nervous about raising a child but potty training has scared me. should i be training my 20 month old from now? i heard that if you never leave them in a wet nappy they get used to being dry and hence get use to going potty quicker.
i am not sure i now is a good time to start. really nervous

i am trying to get the moms in my school to use domans cards. all of them havent heard of it before. i hope this will work on their kids. i give them 10 words to take home in sets of 5. so two sets. they do this 3 times a day but i only see them the next week so for the 7 days they do the same words. im not sure if this will bore them but i dont know how to make this work. any suggestions

EARLY LEARNING / Early Learning - General Discussions / Re: Doman's Book > Triple Your Babies Intelligience

hi there
the domans multiply your intelligence book was the first book that i had read regarding doman technique. this book was a pleasure to read and changed the way i looked at education forever. however it is an overview of the program and it basically convinces you why you should let your child learn anything. if you are confident about teaching your child then you should go with the maths reading and encyclopedic knowledge books.

a baby of a friend of mine was able to read at 3. she is now 12. a side effect of her early reading was speed reading. she usually reads a book or two in a day. speed reading is something to look into as it can save so much of time. im reading this novel at the moment and i have started it 4 weeks ago. just dont have the time to sit and enjoy it. speed reading would definitely improve my quality of life

hi there.
we are also on a budget and unfortunately for us the rand is at 10 to the dollar so we have to multiply price by ten. i feel so sad that for us it is so expensive. ive been using reader lite but now my son is bored of them. i am hoping to convince my husband to buy it on special though as my baby is 20 months and i cant wait any longer. i rather have that little debt then live life knowing that i could have done more for my baby. wish me luck in convincing dh
