I gave both my babies the teething tablets and I also gave them Ibuprofen for the pain.  They would eat better once the pain medicine kicked in.

I work 36 hours a week in a full time job but I am fortunate to have a job that I work nights on the week end 12 hour shifts and I usually get to sleep 6 hours each night so that I feel like I am almost a SAHM.  I would never trade my job for another that worked me days because I love spending the days with my children.  I feel fortunate for my job and the hours I work since we need my income.  If it wasn't needed I would not work but I would be a SAHM.

I always let my children watch me brush first and and then I let them take a turn and help me brush my teeth then we reverse the roles.  I let them have a turn brushing thier own teeth and then I get a turn to brush thiers.  I always stopped when they started protesting.  I hope this helps.

Thank you for sharing information on memorizing.  I have always done it the hard way but now can teach my children an easier way.

I don't think that the media itself is bad and that if used wisely it can enhance learning.  What is most important is adult interaction.  DVDs like tweedlewink only do short lessons that only last a few moments and then you are back to interacting with each other.  Where as if you watch a tv show they last at least a 1/2 hour and so over stimulate a babies mind with images and sounds and overstimulation can interfere with learning.  At least this is my opinion.

I have learned to not share what I am teaching my children not because they don't believe me but because then later they start testing my children.  I have to tell them to not test my children but they still do it behind my back.  I wish I had not told anyone that I was doing the doman method because of the testing issue.  Just something to watch out for.

You could also look on ebay or amazon for a used one.  I found my math kit at a thriftstore and it had all the dot cards and was in perfect condition.  It saved me a lot of money that way.  Good luck

I had never heard that the ability to recognize quantity would disappear in a child once they had learned it.  Did you find this information out from the people at IAHP.  I went to one of their seminars and they never mentioned that the ability would go away.  I was under the impression that it would stick around.  Thank you for any clarification on this matter. 

Hi! My first baby was always small and skinny and she still is skinny.  However she was following her own curve line on the charts and so  her doctor wasn't worried.  He said it was just her genetics that dictated her shape and size.  As long as she followed her curve line and was healthy and energetic I was not to worry.  So I learned not to worry or compare her to all the other huge babies that surrounded her.  Hope this post is reassuring.
