[Safari/Jungle Animals]

I have been looking for something to serve small children at my dd 1st Bday.  Does someone have some kid friendly recipes that I can serve? There will only be about 6 kids ages 1-6yrs.

Adults are having hamburgers and hot dogs cookout in our backyard. I don't usually spend time around other kids so I'm not too sure of things to serve. 
I'm having a very small cake made just for her to destroy and I'm thinking cupcakes for everyone else as it will be a good portion for the kids and I can have a variety(white, chocolate).

Her theme is Safari/Jungle Animals(Lions, Elephants, Giraffes ect-its her room theme too)

I'm planning to make paperbag puppets of animals from kits- to entertain the kids.
For the gift bags for the kids to take home I want to make small white bags with black stripes(zebra) and brown bags with black spots(leopard)
I'm still trying to come up with some games to play.  ????

This page has links to youtube videos on the page of nursery rhymes with the words at the bottom of the screen while song is playing.

You can also print from powerpoint presentations that you really like.

You can print the whole thing or just one slide from it to get just the picture you are looking for. 

When you are in the powepoint you want. Click print then in the pop up window 2/3 of the way down it will have print range.  You can choose all or  just 1 slide(here you enter the slide # you want)

Then 3/3 of the way down is Print what:
make sure is says Slide

I've tried to add a picture. I hope it appears.

I was wondering if I could get some advice on Naming and Storing my files for easier finding later.

Right now I have a system where I add hints to the file name to help me, but it gets a little confusing when a file could cover more than one topic/subject.

Here are some of the things I add:
     ##_filename(fn)_**

FC_ = Flash Card
PP_ powerpoint
PPA_ Powerpoint with Audio inclued
WS_  Worksheet
CB_   Coloring Book/Page
ABC_ Alphabet, ABC's, Phonics
WRT_  Writing, Prewriting
SB_  Story Book-Ebook
SBM_ if it is a mini book
C_ color 
BW_ Black &White
QA_ Quiz or test type file
123_Numbers -(123M_ Mathematics)
POI_ has poi included
GEO_geography
SCI_ Science
ect


Then where I got the file from- inital or website is placed after:
**_(fn)_**
_BK = Brillkids
_DLTK= DLTK's website
_CW = Me

So here is 3 examples of files in my folders:

WRT_ABC_FC_Learning To Write Alphabet
(Writing, Alpabets, Flashcard possible, filename)

CB_Solar_System_POI_UP
(Coloring book, filename, poi, website)

C_SBM_Letter A to L_DLTK

CB_SBM_A_Cat_with_a_Hat_DLTK
(one is in color mini story book and second  is Coloring mini book. They are the same type of book exept one book is in color and the other is not)

What could I be using to make this easier?
Do you have a different file naming system or a way of keeping a list of a file and what it contains?

Someone suggested the Dewey Decimal System, but I think it would work for subj. but wouldn't cover for what type of file. What do you think?

I found a nice site for free animal sounds.  You can also purchase a CD of more sounds from the site.  Didn't try that.

Hello,

My name is Chanda and my daughter Ashlyn is 8 months old.  I've been trying to find all the information I can about early development and learning. 

Even while I was in school I never felt that the teaching offered at public schools was indepth enough or personalized.  When my younger sisters were in school (9 years younger than me) My mom considered Homeschooling them, and ever since I've been interested in different learning options. 
Now that I have Ashlyn I want to make sure that I do everything in my power to help her with learning and growing.
I'm glad that I stumbled upon this site today and I hope to learn lots while I'm here.
