We are done with the equations, I did review quantities from 1 to 100 and now we're about to start problem-solving.
I loved using LM, it made teaching math so much easier, now we have to go back to using cards

This book sounded very interesting until I read your comments about it advising to spank. Now it's banned from my amazon wish list for good.
There's so much talk about spanking being harmful to kids, they are so vulnerable. We spank them and then we want them to trust us... what do we teach our kids by spanking them? I strongly believe that spanked children are more aggresive and this is not the right way to discipline children, no matter how badly they behave, it can only make the matters worse. I was spanked as a child, I remeber the rage I felt and how much I hated my parents for doing this to me. I will not do this to my child.

The books I reccomend are "Discipline Without Distress" "Between Parent and Child" "Child:The Challenge"

How about good old oatmeal?
This is our favorite, even my son loves it. I make it in many different ways: with cinnamon and raisins, with a little agava sweetener and berries, with pinnaple and almonds... I can go on and on

We don't eat white flour(in fact I try to avoid wheat as much as possible), pasteurized dairy or sugar of any kind, it's hard to find good recipes that meat my criteria, I'm very strict. Hopefully I'll find some good recipes in this thread

Almond pancakes:
1 cup almond meal
1 tsp oil
2 eggs
1/4 cup water
agave sweetener
pinch of salt

mix all the ingredients and make yummy pancakes 

I will make this yummy dessert today but will try mango or papaya instead of bananas because we don't eat bananas

15-month old is too young for real discipline, this is what I read in many books on children development, he's brain isn't ready for that.
I think you are doing great job with distracting your child, he's too young for time-outs, young children don't have the ability to think thru their actions, no logical thinking yet, this is what everyone expects from time outs, right?
I'm mostly using positive reinforcement and we don't have tantrum problem. Also, I give my child lots of choices, I give him only two options and  I do it whith things that are not important, things like, which pair of pants do you want or do you want oatmeal with banana or with apple, it makes the child feel in control, we all want feel like that from time to time, right?
I never leave my child to cry it out unless it's clear that he does it for show only, which happened twice.
I don't plan on using time out, spanking and punishment ever.
