Parents' Lounge / General Parenting / My Grandson's Bad Temper

My grandson Chance has a bad temper. I am not sure if this is part of the terrible two’s or something else. Chance did not like the allergist that was examining him, and he fought and screamed at her. He was such in a rage, once, the doctor was done with the examination he got off my lap and threw the seat on the floor that the doctor was sitting on and he tried to turn over the weighing scale too, but it was too heavy for him to move.
Yesterday, we went shopping with my partner B, his son Josh, Chance and I. Chance and I were buying things for the barbecue he had a book to keep him busy. He was extremely happy with us shopping and his book. Then when my partner and Josh showed up he started to throw a fit and he pulled my hair almost out of my head and started to bite me. My partner pulled him off of me; he started to bite him too. It took Chance a while too calm down.
When Chance gets upset he usually wants to bite (me or my partner and my partner kids), pull (my hair), and throw things down that is in his reach. I mean is this normal? I need some input! Or is this something else going on here that needs intrevention!
The amazing thing is that Chance does not do this with his Mom, which is my daughter. My daughter is stunned when I tell her about Chance’s behavior.

do you know where I can download similar voice clips. I've tried my voice, and he doesn't like it!

Hi all,
This may be a weird question, but I must ask. I want to teach my grandson the alphabet and I'm making my own presentation. I would like to download a pleasant voice bit for him to really be involved.
I recorded my voice on the presentation and I think he finds it boring.
I would appreciate your help.

EARLY LEARNING / Early Learning - General Discussions / Schools For Early Learning

I need the advice of the forum regarding Early Learning Schools for Babies. Your insight would be very valuable. My problem is that my grandson Chanze does not like the way I teach him, because he's not grasping on how to read! I don't think I'm teaching him the right way. He's now 15 1/2 months and I'm getting a bit nervous! Would like to know about Daycares or Schools that can teach my grandson. I live in Queens, NY in the town of Laurelton. I am anxious to here back from the forum and what you recommend.

EARLY LEARNING / Early Learning - General Discussions / My 10 month old Grandson Chanze

Hi All,
I am writing to ask your advice regarding my 10 month old grandson Chanze.
My major concern has to do with his focus during teaching time (alphabet). He is not interested and is always looking around at other things instead of paying attention to what I am teaching him.
It’s extremely frustrating to me, and maybe I am doing something wrong? Also, my girlfriend is always making comments during his teaching time. For instance, “Why are you teaching a 10 month old baby to read!” I am thinking maybe that could be the problem too.
Can the Brillbaby community can give me some pointers!
Thanks.

EARLY LEARNING / Early Learning - General Discussions / Stressed! Day Care or Home Schooling
|

I am writing to ask advice from the Brillkids forum community regarding my grandson Chanze (7 months old). Lately, while teaching him he seems to be uninvolved like he is bored, and I cannot keep him focus on what I am trying to teach him. For instances, teaching him to play with certain toys, to roll a ball or helping him to say Mama he turns away and totally ignores me! He is not interested! I thought by teaching him myself would be best, but now I am not sure. My major concern is that my teaching techniques are not helping my grandson or I am not doing it properly! Another thing that is bothering me is that Chanze is just starting to crawl and I have a friend whose son is born on the same day as Chanze, and her son has been crawling since he was 5 months and he is saying Mama. She has him in day care, and I am wondering if I should have my daughter put chanze in day care at least a couple days a week. Does anyone have advice (Lesson Plans) on how to keep Chanze interested and possibly tell me what I am doing wrong and if we should put Chanze in day care does anyone know of a great day care (Private school day care in Queens, NY) that they can recommend!
