my son was a late crawler and walker, my father in law would carry in him everywhere and I worked all day so it was hard to monitor how much tummy time he got. I would try continue to try it through the day if you can and and even if he gets 30 seconds of tummy time many time through out the day, that's better than nothing at all.

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child to Read / Re: YBCR vs BRILLKIDS

I really liked the YBCR read videos until my son turned 2 and completely lost interest in the videos, so I've been searching for other teaching videos and I am very glad I found this website. because if I hadn't I would have just given up and my son probably would have lost what he learned as a baby.
ps. I never bought the flash card from YBCR I just made my own on the computer. Its a great concept for teaching babies early.

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child to Read / Re: Early pre- and first reading books

I go to the library frequently and we borrow plenty of books, buts some of the award winners my son doesn't evern like. He really liked "Honey Bunny Funnybunny". I forget who the author is. But it was a favorite for my son and he would ask for it at bedtime. For me its just a hit and miss with books. I also participate in the pampers gift programs which has rewards for buying their products. My son has been potty trained for a few months now so I decided to redeem my points. I ordered the early reader board book set. I received it yesterday and they are already a hit. We received, "big dog, little dog", "the ear book". They are a bit on the small print side, but they are nice and strudy. I would recommend for 90 points from Pampers.

Parents' Lounge / General Parenting / Re: Learning to use a spoon

Hi...don't feel embarassed that your 19 month olds don't know how to use a spoon, my almost 3 year old does not know how to use a spoon or fork with making a mess everywhere and sometimes needs assistance. For most of my sons "bad' habits I blame myself, even though it was his nanny or my husband or grandparents who spoiled him. He was spoon fed and really never had the opportunity to eat food on his own. I now believe given the chance and opportunity babies / children learns so much more than just having things done for them. But off course they will make a big mess in the process, but its all a learning adventure for them.
