Yay! Great to know that more and more kababayans are now discovering about the Brillbaby site! I've been a member for barely a month now, I think. And eversince then, I got hooked! It's good that you are in a company of parents/ soon to be parents who share the same passion, on teaching Early education for their children. Btw, Nadia and Lila_and_mom, what cities are you from? I'm from Quezon City. Oh and congratulations to you, Nadia! I'm a first time Mom too and I can tell you the phrase "Masarap pero Mahirap" is not true... because it's really "Mahirap pero Sobrang Sarap!".

My sons name is Castor Von Linden (last name not enclosed)... His first name my husband chose from the constilation Gemini, I am a Gemini. One morning woke up early and thats the 1st thing he said "If its a boy we're naming him Castor" "cool, I like it" I thought.... its greek meaning defender... or spanish for beaver.... ... Von Linden literally mean "of the lime tree" I dont remember how we chose his middle names, but I have 2 middle names as well so I wanted my sone to have 2 also....Do I get Karma for having the most original name?? Hey Brittanican, I just gave you one! Your son's name is quite long too! And last name's not enclosed yet Our son's full name is Eliam Jesu Mattheo Gonzales Dizon. My mom said he'd get mad at us for giving him a very long name. Because all his classmates might be done with their tests already and our son hasn't even finished writing his name yet!

This topic just reminded me of my 5-year old cousin's question a few months ago. My husband and I calls each other "Mommy and Daddy", as our terms of endearment. Then one day, my cousin came up to us and asked, "How come he (looking at my husband) calls you Mommy? Is he your son?". Everyone in the room laughed! Another innocent and logical question of a child, indeed!

Here's how we got ours... Our son's name is ELIAM JESU MATTHEO. Quite long huh? My husband and I are devout Catholics and we wanted to have a Biblical name and one that would be a variation of our names. Thus, ELIAM, from Amiel, which means "God is with us". Just recently I looked it up on the internet and one result said it means "descendant of Amiel". Very fitting huh! MATTHEO is from my name, Ma. Theresa. We just made it into masculine form and it means "Gift of God". And JESU, from our saviour, Jesus. We really wanted to have His name and place it in the middle, to pay tribute because our son was born despite a very difficult pregnancy. How about yours?

^ That I don't have a nanny for our son when most of the parents here in the city have one or two for their kids, and that I am a hands-on and breastfeeding Mom > I resigned from my work abroad just so we can have our baby now. v What's the most valuable lesson that you learned from your parents?

That's one of my favorite photos of him It's also very expensive here in the Phils., but it's the only way that his Dad would get the "prenatal experience", since he works abroad and had only seen 2D ultrasound photos of Eliam. I wanted him to see a video of our son moving.

Oh no! Don't get us wrong, chispa. That's not what we meant with our posts! What we meant was that kids have a "what-they-see-is-what-they'll-perceive-as-true and correct" kind of thinking that we, as adults (not only their teachers), should be wary of the things that we expose them to. And another thing, English is also my second language, so don't think that we note and check the spelling of every post that you make here in the forums. We are here because we all believe in Early-Learning and not to judge and point out the mistakes of our fellow members.

I think the earlier kids learn to read, the better their spelling, grammar etc. One of my kids was recently given an award at school assembly. The award was for DILLIGENCE. Note the spelling!! I mentioned to the teacher diligence had one "L", and he just said he never was a good speller. Yeah, but he's the teacher!! What hope have the kids got if we leave it to teachers????
I agree with you on that, Nikita. I remember when I was still in Grade School, I noticed a sign in our campus which said "NO LITERRING". I told my mom that the spelling wasn't correct. When she saw it for herself, she then reported it to the Principal. I told her there's no big deal and that there wasn't a need to report for it because they might have just mistakenly written it. She then replied, "That's the whole point. They are the teachers, the school administrators, they should be cautious of everything that the students might see around them. They might answer it's just a little sign with a little error in spelling, the students might not notice it anymore, but see, you noticed!". And now that I'm a mom myself, I can now understand why she reacted that way.
