Parents' Lounge / General Parenting / How to Help my Son Be a Little Taller
|

Hello dear parents, I'm on my 25th week of pregnancy to my dear baby boy. I would like to ask if you know any growth-inducing techniques or food or anything to help my son grow a little taller than us, parents. You see, I am only 5 feet and 1 inch in height whereas my DH is only 4 inches taller than me...so, genetically speaking, my unborn son will probably be only at that range of height.
Is there any help around that I can give to my son so he can be a few inches taller than he's supposed to be? Like, do I need to feed him more milk, or does he need to nap a little longer?
Your input will be very appreciated.
Sharlene

hi butterfly 320, yes, msg from junk food as well as cola drinks are harmful for babies. I had that craving too until now, but I try to substitute cola drinks with the lesser evil, sweetened natural drinks like nestea, coconut juice and other fruit shakes. Plus, if the craving is really that hard to resist, I take a sip or two but not too much since my baby may get sickly once she's born.
So if you can avoid it, please do, for you and your baby's sake.
Take note that I had been sick twice due to cola drinks (during my 2nd and 3rd month of pregnancy)
Ciao

welcome to the forum, sugarprinces! I also have been lurking in this site for sometime and it's very informative and useful. Regarding your use of babyplus, how was it? Any remarkable thing/show off experienced by your baby? Thanks for sharing. Sharlene

more than a year na ang latest reply...pero reply pa rin ako.

nhockaday, I hope you can remember the brand so I can also check it in the local drugstore. thanks for the tips... I have another problem tho, and it scares me to hell...you see, I have my teeth braces still(I know I'm too old for this ) but I guess my dentist didn't do a good job locking the wires last month during the adjustment so it went loose, about an inch long. I had a hard time eating since last night because of the loose wire, I tried to cut it off this morning but to no avail. So I decided I will call my dentist for his earliest schedule to have the wire cut and readjust my teeth braces. Problem happened after lunch today, I didn't feel the loose wire anymore, I think it was cut, yet I didn't notice it. Now I am afraid that I could have swallowed it unintentionally and scared that it may affect my baby or worse my baby can digest that wire and lead to complications for my pregnancy. I don't know what to do, I am just praying that I spat it out and not swallowed it. Any advice?

hi diego,
actually, that video brought me to this site also..and now I am hooked! I felt excited knowing that my soon-to-be-born baby has actually the capacity to read at 12 months. Can't help but salute the father of Felicity.
Good luck to us..why don't you try the Little REader first..I believe they have free trial.

Parents' Lounge / General Pregnancy / Do I need to take folic acid and omega3 supplements while on my 2nd trimester?

Hello everyone..this is my second post and I love the information that I get from this site.Thank you all. I am on my 19th week now and had monthly antenatal check ups with my gynae since the 2nd month since I didn't know I was preggy till that time. But then, he only gave me folic acid for that month and afterwards only Iron supplements had been handed for me to take. I am afraid this is not enough since I read from the internet that some pregnant women take folic acid full term plus they take omega3 supplements/fish oil. Is it safe to take fish oil supplements until my due date? Thanks for your reply.
