lila is almost 16 months old. a few weeks back i got her a pack of plastic fruits, a box of numbered blocks, 3 sets of pegged puzzles and playskools walk and ride. and its true! she doesnt pay attention to the toys! that boggles me. she walks and runs around the house the whole day holding on to a little stuffed doggy she calls "doody"    and would stop in front of the tv when she sees an interesting commercial or when she hears singing from the daily kids shows like dora the explorer and wonder pets. i will definitely try to put out just 3 toys at a time and see if she would take interest in them.

my cousin came to visit me the other day and she brought 4 of her kids. the youngest two are 1 year old and a 2 year old. my 2 year old niece played with the walk and ride more than my baby ever played with it. she pushed it around she played with the buttons and the rattle and even inspected the wheels. so that made me wonder why my daughter never pays attention to that toy.

I have been reading quite a lot of the forum threads and discussion boards and i've read about YBCR or it has been mentioned quite often. and im wondering if anyone has an idea where to purchase ybcr dvd's in the US?

i'm a mom from the Philippines and just stumbling upon this site is a "miracle" for me. it is soooo difficult to find any information, much more, materials for early child education. i have not heard about Glenn Doman or YBCR or anything remotely close to early child education before i registered for brillkids and the LR. so you see guys -- the forum is my so-called "lifeline" to educating my first baby. and i am soooo grateful that everybody here in the forums are so helpful, supportive and approachable when it comes to anything about teaching our young ones  .

I hope you guys can help....

Pasensya na at ngayon lang ako naka reply.. natutuwa ako kapag nakikita kong dumadami na ang mga pinoy sa site at sa forums. sa pagka alam ko marami-rami na rin tayo dito kaya lang hindi masyadong active sa forums. pero na iintindihan ko naman kase nga mga mommy tayong lahat! hehe! maraming pinagkakaabalahan lalo na ang mga anak natin.

my baby is almost 16 months old and nag start ako using the little reader when she was 14 months old. before ko nakita yung site na to (by accident lang kase i was looking for information about early child education sa internet), nakapag start na akong mag turo sa kanya using flashcards. laking pasasalamat ko sa site na ito dahil mas pinadali yung pagtuturo, mas convenient and mas interactive kase nga may sounds and pictures and etc...

Tama ka mare, mas madaling matuto yung babies natin dahil sa LR. And tumpak ka sa sinabi mong masarap yung makitang natututo na ang mga anak nating mag basa sa murang edad nila.

Sana mag upload tayo ng mga tagalog category files. nakapag upload ako ng i think dalawa or tatlong categories -- vegetables transportation and insects in tagalog. gustong gusto ko talagang matuto si lila ng filipino/tagalog language.

ok hanggang dito na lang muna. i hope mas marami tayong bagong mapag uusapan and ma share dito sa tagalog message board..

Wow! I should have my husband read this thread! He will be so excited to see that there are more dad's getting involved and having an active role in early child education. In fact, my husband was the one who started my "obssession" in teaching our daughter. He was the one who had me listen to classical music when i was pregnant and he printed infant stimulation flashcards too when our baby was born. although i was a little bit disappointed because i found this site bu accident when lila was already 14 months old ( i always wish i had found it sooner!) -- im elated that the people here in the forums are ones that dont laugh at the idea of teaching babies to read or to do math as early as possible.

It's true what KL said -- it will take over your life!    Im a stay at home mom in the Philippines and my husband is in the US (but my baby and I will be moving there very soon) and my husband is working 2 jobs right now. But --  we would talk everyday over VOIP (technology is amazing i thank God for it everyday) and he would tell me to make new category files for our daughter...  Only trouble is - everytime I make a new cat file or download the ones uploaded in the site i have to translate it in Tagalog. My husband is Trinidadian who grew up in the States and speaks english and a little spanish. And my language is totally different! But I keep tellin myself its worth it!

That is AMAZING! You definitely made the right choice in believing that your baby can do so much more than what "experts" believe. Most people do not believe that hard work, sacrifice and LOVE can make miracles and can actually help children, even the ones who have down syndrome or cerebral palsy to do what normal kids can do. My cousin in-law has a niece who is brain damaged and Im still encouraging her til now to use Lil Reader and read on some of the testimonials of parents here. But it's kinda hard to convince her. I always get the "buts"... "but she can't even say anything" "but she cant even sit on her own" etc....

Your testimonial is truly inspiring. I could only hope other mom's would have your patience, perseverance and love for teaching your  daughter -- no matter what other people say.

what i noticed is that, when i share information about early education to people who are single or who have kids but doesnt know anything about early education -- i get the "you have to joking" reactions. however, when i try to talk other moms with babies into doing early education with their children, and ofcourse share this site and all the wonderful things i've learned from the moms here -- they tell me its too much work. or they don't have the time to sit and teach their kids using the pc or even just flashcards... its frustrating really. and i dont feel the need to show them what lila can do now because of all the things i've learned here so fas as terms of early education..

hello everyone!

medyo matagal tagal na rin at naka pag communicate tayong mga pinay moms dito sa tagalog message board! kamusta na pala yung mga kids natin with the program? kami ni lila nag rest ng kaunti kase parang bored na sya mag sit in front of the pc all the time. hopefully maka pag lessons uli kami starting next week.

Im a new member too. I just signed up last month and it has been great using lil reader and being active in the forum discussions. Hey dont think that its ever too late to teach your child.. Yes there are other moms who are also using lil reader for kids 3years up. there was a recent thread posted by nikki that for older kids you need to show variety in the lessons you use because they get bored easily. and ofcourse they would need new materials faster because they are already know certain things and if you keep repeating it-- they get bored. anyway.. im sure you and your 4 year old will love the software and you will love the site...

this thread helped me alot and i use it as a guide everytime i feel like im stuck or lost.. read on and hope to see more of you  in the forums!!!

Im so happy that there seems to be more moms signing up everyday for the lilreader and taking active roles in their child's learning!!! The community is so much fun... i think the potty set would be really nice. my baby wont sit on her potty as well..    she thinks its like her stroller that should be pushed around... i dont want to force her to sit on it so i hope that if she sees what it is for thru this cat file then she will get th whole concept of the potty...

wow im jealous kase naka start ka ng maaga sa baby mo with lil reader. sakin kase 14 months na si lila ng nakita ko yung site na to. but i believe that its never too late. I started her with ABC flashcards when she was 8 months but hindi naman tuloy2x dahil nga madali syang ma bore.

With regards to the lessons, i usually do it after she wakes up in the morning and before she sleeps at night. i never force pag ayaw na nya na naka upo in front of the pc. then inbetween i review the flashcards that i already had even before i found lil reader.

i love this site... it inspires me to be the best mom to my baby. di ba ang galing ng program? im so happy na natagpuan natin to....
