My son has intolerance to cow's milk proteins so I'm giving him a special powder milk . When he reach the age of two, his pediatrician has advised me to stop with powder milk and start with soya milk and it will be in two months time. There is a lot of controversy about milk so I'm not quite sure about what I'll do. I've heard soya milk has a lot of allergenes. Do any of you know anything about almond milk, is it a better option?

EARLY LEARNING / Early Learning - General Discussions / Re: What got you interested in early learning / teaching your baby?

I became interested in prenatal stimulation while pregnant. It was for me a way to communicate with the baby I had inside my womb. I got some good articles and ideas browsing on the internet and I practised them (classical music on my tummy, light on my tummy, singing for him, talking to him...). After birth, I went on looking for ways to stimulate my baby on the internet, because I wanted him to stay ahead, I wanted him to get to the most he was able to. At first, I got some tips for massages and exercises, classical music, children stories and nursery songs , and I tried to talk to him as much as I could as I read it was very important to stimulate him. It took me still several months to get into Little Reader and understand what stimulation actually is, and for me it has been like a miracle because thanks to the forum and this program I have gotten my eyes open to what babies really are able to do. Above all, the members and their discussions and their advice to my doubts have been of great help to me. Before I came across with Little Reader I didn't know anything about Doman , Schidia, Titzer, etc and their methods, now I don't feel I'm an expert on the subject but have a background to be able to teach my baby more things than I was doing until now. And for this I'm really grateful.

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child to Read / Re: Won't look at card

I know exactly what you are talking about, at first my baby didn't want to look at cards either but the key is to go on, if you feel a bit discouraged try every two or three days to see if there has been any change. And don't forget to be joyful. Try by all means to motivate your baby, if your baby feels you motivated it is easier to get good results, look for a part of the day when you both are calm and receptive. Try with a variety of flashcards not just words. My baby is more interested in shapes, colours, numbers, ... than in words so try to catch his attention with what he prefers and surely he will also look the other flashcards too. Good luck!

If you interested in teaching your children Spanish but you can not speak it, try with songs, tv programs, children books, etc. On the you tube there are lots of Spanish videos for kids. Look on the you tube for:
Guia infantil canciones infantiles
Cantajuegos
La gallina Turuleka
I hope it can help you, just try and see.
