Don't forget the materials made for the babies and kids to learn the language of the land that they are living in. They are much more cheaper, than DVDs especially made to learn a foreign language and in addtion they often have different language settings (english, german, french, italian, spanish) because it's cheaper for the DVD-makers.

The series with the elephant
There are many things to explore! Told stories (no moving pictures), real explanations (visiting factories e.g.) and in between the little elephant. There is a subtitle for perent in german, what they can do with their children to animat them. Very lovely and especially made for kids between 3 and 6, very easy language is used for the little ones.
