Soft Mozart recital: Eliana (9) plays and sings Let it go from 'Frozen' Level 2
Eliana is a Soft Mozart Academy student. She learns piano, music theory, appreciation, ear training and other music subjects on line. She followed lesson plans and curriculum of Level 2
Her Progress Diary for the 2014-2015 is here: http://www.softmozart.com/forum/70-2014-2015/18368-eliana-9-y-o-us-level-2.html
Such a brilliant performance of a brilliant girl! I am so proud of her achievements. She receives her music education in my Soft Mozart Academy on line (Grade 2). She is on full scholarship, because she is a very dedicated learner and hard worker. The curriculum that she follows is training not just piano skills, but also voice, deep music theory and appreciation understanding. I added many sophisticated subjects to the curriculum: Theory Theater, ear training, solfeggio and musical dictations. Practically, the education that our students receive in the Academy is going to serve them for life as academic credits in Universities and as life lasting skills. Being a student of 7 years in state music school, 4 years of music college and 5 years of University of arts I can proudly claim that the education that I am developing and offering through Soft Mozart Academy is the most effective and advance in the world. I am very happy with the results so far.

25  EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child Music / Active VS Passive Learning. What Works Better? on: April 01, 2015, 03:07:29 PM
Children love fairy tales. We love to create them to use in class.

In this post I will share with you some steps that we can make to turn our students from passive listeners of our stories into active learners.

One of my first stories that I tell to my students is 'What is Music and What is Noise'. (The book is going to be available in the store this week)

This book is the part of my scientific work, which focused on the most soft and gentle, and at the same time most effective ways to learn music.

In this fairy tale, we plant the seeds of very important and valuable ethical and theoretical concepts, which are the foundation for true music education. These concepts are usually taught later in life when students are in college or university.

This story was created to teach children gradually how to listen to the sounds around them, assess their quality and determine difference between what one might call “music construction” and “music destruction”.

Once your child has read ‘What Is Music and What Is Noise’, he or she will be very familiar with the foundation upon which all music education has been built.  Just like we teach our children good hygiene (brushing teeth) early on, we should also be teaching good musical health and your child can start with this book.

Music is a life long journey.  To learn these perceptive skills at an early age will help children to choose wisely and to naturally question the music that surrounds them in their daily life.

This book instills the ethics of respect and care for musical instruments as well for the ears of other people. To build and nurture self-esteem, we introduce the notion of hearing “Mr. Oops”, which means to admit your own mistakes.  It is critical that we teach children not to be afraid of making mistakes, so you will be seeing Mr. Oops awareness in our subsequent stories.

We also introduce a little bit of abstract music terminology (mostly associated with the character’s names) that in future will be very handy and will be transitioned into more complex music concepts through training and hands on experience.  These characters include Mister Tuning Fork, Whole Rest, Queen Tonic, King Dominant, and Princess Sub-dominant.

In our “Soft Way to Mozart” Academy, we treat dry, abstract information with caution. We follow the common didactic rules that were laid out by Teacher of Nations, John Amos Comenius, several centuries ago:
- From simple to complicated
- From concrete to abstract
- From general to detailed
[/b]

What is Music And What is Noise has already become part of our Academy lesson plan. We have also created a puppet show with the same exact content. We offer this video free of charge and you may watch it on line here:
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/6r1v9qzOhBA&rel=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/6r1v9qzOhBA&rel=1</a>

Watching this video will enhance your child’s perception of the story. Seeing the characters in action with Joseph Hayden’s  Surprise Symphony #94 (1st movement) as the score enriches the story even further.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/yPB3QyOXGlA&rel=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/yPB3QyOXGlA&rel=1</a>

You may often read about the importance of music appreciation for early learners. We have developed a very smooth, soft, gentle and gradual system that helps any child to develop their deep inner understanding of advanced forms of music. We use an interactive learning approach that allows children to perceive music through different channels (ear, voice, sight and fine motor skills) simultaneously.
Perceiving the music of the Surprise Symphony through Gentle Piano Module:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/iRbgPIl_Bj0&rel=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/iRbgPIl_Bj0&rel=1</a>

Students of our Academy can start learning very early on, beginning at 24 months.  They will very quickly learn how to play Theme from Surprise Symphony using Gentle Piano application from our interactive software. You can buy a subscription to our computerized curriculum by going to this link www.pianolearningsoftware.com
Playing the music that is used in the What Is Music And What Is Noise helps beginners to develop their sight-reading skills, their own musical ear and voice and their fine motor skills (including both hand coordination).
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/Xdq9UhEDqiw&rel=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/Xdq9UhEDqiw&rel=1</a>

Many studies have shown that practicing these skills vigorously are extremely valuable to the formation of a child’s musical and general intelligence.

Learning the Theme from the Surprise Symphony by voice and music notes names *with the help of Soft Mozart cards*:
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/hCWpisfLdeQ&rel=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/hCWpisfLdeQ&rel=1</a>

Learning the same Theme by sight-reading music with the Gentle Piano application of the Soft Way to Mozart software:
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/11xGcD69qwI&rel=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/11xGcD69qwI&rel=1</a>

Mastering music repertoire by making music with one’s own hands is the very basis for the development of music erudition and is what initiates the seedlings that will blossom into a strong spiritual love for classical music. And with this love we can introduce and foster interest in different composers as well as an superior understanding music history from different epochs. In turn, such interest will lead to an interest to general science and spark the cognitive activity of children’s minds.

Join us and you will in fact adopt the most effective and most optimal path to learning music and building better minds for our children. Through music, we will help anyone and everyone to achieve more advanced goals in understanding the world around us. There will be many wonderful surprises, new teaching ideas and wonderfully positive changes, which will all contribute to your personal development as a parent and as a professional educator. Happy learning!
Sincerely yours,
Hellene Hiner

Hi
I am hoping to try out Soft Mozart but while the Demo connection with my piano is working but that is about it. The icons are all frozen. I think the problem could be that Windows 8 does not allow change from 32 bit to 16 bit. Something to do with the desktop window manager needing 32 bit to run and it runs all the time. I wonder if others have overcome this problem. It seems that it will be hard to find a newish system to run on 16 bit even though SoftMozart website states that Windows 8 is compatible. I hope someone can help. Thank you.

Hello, Analie!
Could you, please, specify, what version of Soft Mozart do you have on your computer?
Where did you download it from?

A Little Unsolicited Advice On Becoming A Better Parent From Yours Truly

Do you want your children to be happy and successful in life?

THEN TEACH THEM MUSIC!

If you don’t believe me, then Google the many studies that have been done to support my assertion.

How am I going to teach them music you ask?  Maybe you are musically illiterate.  Maybe you never played an instrument.  Maybe you don’t consider yourself a good singer.   Well none of that matters now.   Anyone, children as young as 2 and grandparents as young as 103, can learn to play and read music with my system – “Soft Way To Mozart”.

What is so special about my program?  For starters, it is the ONLY system in the world that can do this.  It is the secret to not just playing piano, but to all music literacy and education world wide.

You are saying that sounds to good to be true.  Let me explain.

My system is based on the same system that the Russian School of Music has used for the last 100 years.  The only difference is that my system uses technology.  And now the Russian School of Music is beginning to use my system.  Now that is serious validation which I am honored to accept.

Never heard of the Russian School of Music?  It is little like Julliard, the US Flagship of music instruction in New York City, with a few small differences:

 Julliard                                              Russsian School of Music
Requires prior private lessons                    Start from scratch
Only accepts prodigies                       Beginners accepted
4 year program             16 year program

Julliard is a great school with many accomplished alumni, but the point is Julliard only teaches prodigies.  Julliard is not interested in the non prodigies, which leaves out whole lot of people.   Julliard starts with a seedling and a strong one at that, to grow the tree.   The Russian School of Music starts with just the seed to grow the tree.

So what about all those non-prodigies?   Most never make it to music school and if they do, those music schools “BEGIN” by teaching them how to play a desired instrument, which is like teaching someone how to read without understanding what they are reading or saying.  The Russian School of Music on the other hand “begins” by teaching students how to listen and to hear.

To teach students to hear, the Russian School of Music has two requirements that are unique to the approach:

1.   Academic Solfeggio. This subject is exceeding ‘Solfeggio’ (that most of us know as ‘sounds of music’ from the famous movie) a little, because it ultimately teaches to:
-   hear the music text with inner hearing,
-   be able to write music down,
-   be able to pick up any tune by ear
-   pick up the accompaniment to any melody
-   creatively change any music through notation and by ear (for example, if a melody is in an “uncomfortable” range for a voice, you are taught to transpose it (or to play from any key on the piano).
I didn’t list all of the advantages that Academic Solfeggio teaches students!

The Academic Solfeggio gives every person a real music education, promotes personal cultural development, and develops music erudition and a creative mind. This subject is the essence of ear training through a variety of activities based on piano skills.

Now it is time to explain, what piano skills are from the Russian Music School point of view.

2.   General Piano. We all have some idea what piano lessons are all about, right? But in the Russian School of Music, there is “professional piano” and “general piano,” and these are two different subjects!  You may want to be a performer or not; you may want to play any other instrument - recorder or even percussion, but you must learn to play the piano on top of that.  The General Piano is not meant for a student to perform on stage, but for an absolutely different reason: every student learns the best that each school in the world had created with his/her hands on.

The training to hear starts with personal experience to sight-read different scores written by others. Through direct application and involvement of our eyes, ears, voice and touch we perceive music information more effectively.

You may be saying now that all this sound right, but 16 years is a long time.  That’s where my method, Soft Mozart comes into play.  Soft Mozart incorporates interactive technology to teach Academic Solfeggio using the piano as the primary instrument.

There is more!  It is also the interactive technology that allows Soft Mozart to shine a bright halogen light on the fact that the lines and space of the Grand Staff have a direct visual correlation to the piano keys.

You can find any music material in piano transcription: operatic arias, symphonies, jazz, pop, rock . . . By reading all these different types of music on the piano, your child is learning how to hear and understand music as a language, and he or she receives the freedom to choose what he or she wants to listen to. In todays’ world, without music literacy, our children are over exposed to pop and rock (except The Nutcracker at Christmas time, of course!)

The Academic Solfeggio as well as General Piano ought to be taught in every public school. It is vitally important for your child to have these subjects, the earlier, the better!

Is it going to happen any time soon? Not likely. The system of education sometimes can be very slow.

This is exactly why I created “Soft Mozart” - The solution to the problem!

First and foremost, Soft Mozart is based on the Russian School of Music, and this is exactly why I pay such a great deal of attention to the Soft Mozart curriculum development, where I have integrated Academic Solfeggio and General Piano in the learning process to create the most natural, well-rounded educational environment.  The visual and Interactive software is the tool that helps to brings all these elements together so your child can read, write down, transpose, sing and play music in order to develop his or her brilliance through music education.

Soft Mozart is not just developing fine motor skills (even though it provides such skills extremely effectively), it teaches music literacy in the deepest way possible. This is exactly why Soft Mozart students are winning piano competitions - they are trained properly to listen to themselves and others. Soft Mozart students are fully prepared to lead a culturally rich successful lives, knowing full well what they want and how to get it.

Today my research is officially buttressed by the academic music world in Russia. One of the first schools that endorsed my findings is the [St. Petersburg State Conservatory http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Petersburg_Conservatory. Peter Tchaikovsky graduated from this school, and I couldn’t feel more honored.

Your child is growing very fast.  What kind of parents are you?  What kind of future do you want for your children? Do you want them to learn how to talk – or do you want them to learn to talk, think and hear what others have to say? Do you want them to be obedient – or do you want them to be intelligent citizens who act upon there own accord.

Make the Soft Mozart decision today.  Your child is waiting!
