I am currenlty working with children of 12 years of age as well with similiar challenges. For the right brain area to enhance it believe it or not I work on the math, thinking, processes, and ordering content areas, like using pictures. Putting things in order, rearranging things, puzzle play and more hands on then a specific curricula. There are some things that you can do to develop the right brain regarding providing the right nutrients to the brain as well. We even cut out and make quits. If you want to know more you are welcome to PM me for it can get a little overwhelming at first to find the right nik to begin with.

Well first get eye's tested, if can with LO it can be difficult, try differnet size fonts (the bigger the better) try different colors of fonts like black or red. Sometimes trying a computerized program like www.abcmouse.com or www.starfall.com is a better choice then using books. Your child may be just bored with words, word cards, etc. or could be something else going on. Some children do not like words so other methods of displaying words needs to be used like software, virtual flash cards, puzzles, letter tiles, sentence strips, etc. Sometimes children can be scared of a book for it may be too busy, sometimes trying a blank piece of paper with a hole cut out for just the sentence to show through is needed, like a blue or orange piece of contruction paper with a square cut out to expose the sentence. Allowing the child to create a work and then a sentence on their own instead of in a book.

Homeschooling can be free if you have the time to provide a plan. I do believe that a 2 year old needs a schedule not just for school work but for a every day life. You don't have to be a teacher to teach your child you are her mother, caregiver, instructor, and so on so therefore you are her teacher. If you want free curriculu to print out there are tons that are free and are great! If you want to pay a small fee then there are some from 8.00 a month to 20.00 and so on. My co-op offers a ministry where were we print the curriculum for a fee of what it costs and we ship it to people all over of cours ethe parents pay the fee. It can be hard to homeschool a little one but if you organize your life and the little ones you can do it for as little as 5.00 or less a month.
I start my homeschooling curricula at age 6 months and a schedule for my 3, and my other 15 homeschoolers.
PM me and I can tell you more if interested.
