i am lucky because i run a mom and baby class. my baby comes with me to class. my helper is there as well. he participates in the class and if he is not up to it my helper takes him outside.

its nice knowing that i can be with him and teaching kids with their moms around is also nice. it gets monotonous as work overlaps with home so there really isnt a seperation from the 2 but it suits our life right now and ofcourse  i enjoy it

when my baby was born i went shopping for parenting books. i was just drawn to all the education books and that is how i found the doman books. lo is on the brink of becoming a toddler and i just realised that i dont have much info on a toddler.

they are so different compared to a baby. everything is exciting and in their excitment they can be a bit reckless.

any books out there that can provide info to help ease the toddler years?

i know a bit of arabic and afrikaans. i dont have a voice recorder but would like to up load files. did you just put in the pronunciation in a written medium?

i have never reseached right brain and left brain dominance before.
i just read an article about right brain people being more creative like your einstein and richard branson but these kids may not thrive in a school environment. the example given was that your child may try to remember a formula in an exam but may not be able to recall it as easily as a left brain dominant person.

should i be stimulating the right brain as the two halves would work better than one?

i would love to teach my baby a new language but i am not bilingual.
how would i teach him say potuguese or french if i cant read the word the way it is meant to.

is there a program for this or a way to do it.

i was sorting out lo's toys and he loves clocks. he has a foam clock with a green star in the centre that comes out. a few of the numbers were missing as they come out as well so  figured let me throw it away. i found the star only and he comes into the room. he takes the star from my hand and runs out of the room. i have no idea where he finds the clock part as i hadnt seen it in months and i thought it was thrown away by mistake (we found my husbands car license and credit card in the bin bag). he brings it to and was so excited. i couldnt believe it. i put the toy back in his toy box (not sure why because it will get thrown out later but i just couldnt do it today.)

i would like to know from what age is a baby able to fit in a two piece puzzle if you only provide the two pieces?

when would they beable to recognise two different two piece puzzles?

just curious to know because Sa'ad has ten two piece puzzles but isnt able to put them together yet. he tries though.

i find i have a similar prob with my husband. he wont willingly pick up the cards. i have to tell him. he hasnt reseached any new ideas but i guess that is how we are. he worries about the safety issues and waking up at night one time of the two.

he hasnt changed a nappy in about a year but he shops for clothes now and then and takes baby to the zoo. we each have our own responsibities but i am going to delegate a bit more to him.

thats great! i should get signing time. my sister in laws niece has had  cochlear implant. she heard sound for the first time when she was two so she signs. would be good for my son to communicate with her.

wow. moving around means that they have had such a rich experience and have explored other countries. you know my husband and i always wanted to travel and live in other countries. we didnt take the risk because of our child and his school. but if he is homeschooled then it rules out that problem.

i guess there is ways to overcome the social barrier. its great that you have other homeschooled families. right now i feel that this is so right for me but i wonder whether i will feel like ive lost out on my life. theres only one way to find out. by just doing i suppose.

its wonderful that you guys have travelled so much. i think the solution for me is to find a passion so when they grow up and will be living life i would have something for me.

when ur kids grow up im sure they will appreciate everything youve done.

it is important for both parents to be on board. my husband kliked the idea of us teaching Sa'ad to read and once he saw the effect on him it made him even more eager.

trying to explain to others is another story. most people politely listen which makes me feel silly. now that my son is older however im hoping it gets easier to make others see that there are ways to raise a child other than the tv

will try it out and see how he reacts to it. any idea i the sign language taught to kids is the same that is taught to people that are hearing impaired
