hi Manda , i have actually 4 right start abacus , 2 minis, 2 regular , and the one i modified huge one like the melissa and doug , and because the small ones are so ligh kids don' take them seriously , so the big one worked better for us . you will need two at some point to add hundred , but by now tina is ok with the small ones , i keep one in each room for quick access , and on ein the car .

i did the same with ours . i do have he righsart abacus but was too little for my toddler to use , and since we already have a melissa and doug one they play wiht , i ook it apart and spray painted , and it made such difference , my daughter early righstart lessons were with this one , of course now she graduated to the smaller rightstart one . like her , her borther didn't treat the small abacus well , too light and small , he was playing with it happy slidong the beads back and forth making noise . when i gave him the big one that can stand on the floor she immediately started moving beads and counting the right way . i really recommend using a bigger abacus whith your tiny tots . also i wonder if anybody made another more exciting colorful bigger version of early right start cards , beads , finger counting , tally sticks ,... the cards supplied by the ki are not exciting at all for babies . viv

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child Music / maestro classics coupon code

I've been drooling over the Maestro Classics classical music CDs for a while and they just put a coupon code on facebook today.
The coupon code is "3000" . I was able to download 2 of their all-digital products (mp3 files plus PDF booklets) for only $2 each. (If you want them to mail you a CD, the coupon code gives you the CD for $9 and free shipping.)
I got Swan Lake, Peter and the Wolf I had to check out separately in order to apply the coupon code to each purchase. viv

I am so embarrassed from all of you and my little one who sat and wrote her postcards by hand , to just find out dad forgot completely to post them . Poor dad he is overworked so we cannot blame him . so really now your cards will be sent on monday . earlylearning17 you didn't get mine too , but to compensate on the delay i am sending each 3 postcards written and signed by my six years old Tina . thank you for your lovely postcard . one suggestion how to use those postcards i got online : i did buy montessori felt wall hanging map but this shows only continents , and i would love more detalied map , i have a big paper one hanging on the wall , but when i saw this cloth map of the world panel on ebay and amazon , i wanted it straight away , for younger kids you can make it as a quilt , for older kids you can back it with cork board hang it on the wall and pin your postcards , family and friend photos from around the world in corresponding places . and the nice thing about it , it only cost 6 $ . i hope by telling you about this one , you will forgive me the delay in sending your postcards . love you all viv

Well I love it , very well done , thank you Kristin !! and so sorry for very late response . I just wish there are more hours in my days but it seemed so unfair that my kiddos are enjoying your work and I keep quiet and not share our experience . We have lots of french learning material around us , we have dvds, books , magazines , but consistency was our problem , even for this mama who can speak perfect french , not much french was happening in our house . the problem is with me that i aim to do a lot and i start but find it challenging to keep up so i drop altogether . this is where your rpogram was wonderful for us and i do recommend it to families who want to teach their kids french . your weekly lessons are nice short and easy to follow even for non french speaking families , if you do each lesson weekly and remember to keep reviewing the previous lessons , your kids will learn . our favourite lesson was about feelings , and my kids love to play the game : mama triste and i have to make a sad face, fache and i have to pretend I am angry . even my just turned six who is very fluent english reader who just took off wiht french reading without any teaching from my side , and is now writing with perfect cursive even a french teacher didn't believe she never been to school , she never liked writing before and in only 2 months she taught herself cursive , she loves watching languagemom small clips with her brother , when we play a clip they ask me to repeat it about 10 times . Again mama please, again , again ... i like the idea . some people drop early learning because they feel overwhelmed not able to follow full Doman approach . Doing 25 words a day is the ultimate perfect achievement , but if you are going to stress over it , it will steal your enjoyment in teaching your little ones . by doing as little as you can keep up with and be consistent even if it is 5 words a day for a week , kids will sill learn , no stress . Thank you Kristin for your beautiful work . viv

welll I am missing so much of the forum discussions , so just found now the new update. my kids love LM , their favorite is the clapping section , my hands get sore but not theirs . i do have a suggestion for the music apreciation section , although my kids have no problem with it , they twirl and dance or try to be the conductor , why leaving the screen blank and not display a photo of the composer instead , thank you brillbaby for a beautiful program viv
